As my wife and I get older, we're happy that are new to us house has no stairs (But that looks like a really nice job).
Just be careful walking down those in socks (Ask me how I know)

A carpet runner down the center would make it safer and even add to the impressive look.
As I get older (or lazier) the plan is to put an elevator into our home, should we stay put. When we built it, the back staircase was designed to be replaced by one later. Later is coming on quick!
