Winner winner, Chicken DinnerAs promised I nominate myself. While removing the OEM steering wheel from my wife's 2000, I neglected to consider the size of the puller tool foot. To wit: when used on a vintage model the steering wheel rod projects through the wheel frame making it impossible to NOT push against the rod. In a 2000 model (and others I assume) the rod is FLUSH with the wheel frame requiring some sort of gap between the puller tool foot and the steering rod. I did not consider this and by the time I figured it out I hade pulled out one of the threaded holes required for wheel removal. Solution: I drill the failed hole all the way through and re-threaded the hole. I got lucky and the wheel came off allowing me to install the NOS replacement wheel.
