Freeloaders

I gave $40 to a homeless guy in Barstow (this was many years ago). He had his family and it actually looked like he was stuck and trying to get back to phoenix.

6 months later he was still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never again :wth......if they dont want to work for it they get nothing, and I would never bring one to my house.
I am with Dave.......No sympathy anymore, That bridge has been burned.

I am with Dave on this one too.
Everyone makes choices on life.
I get so mad when I see news stories about people with no insurance and we should all donate to them when they lose everything. They chose not have insurance, and like Dave said They probably had cable and cellphone and other non essentials. Same thing for people who max out credit cards and mortages they can't really afford. They made that choice.

But I am very cold too. Wouldn't expect anyone to feel sorry for me if I chose to live that way.

Must be about time for a homeless/ freeloader/lawyer insulting joke then -

A lawyer is driving down the road when he spots a man eating grass.
Curious he rolled his window down and asked what he was doing?
I'm homeless and so poor I have to eat grass.
Well said the lawyer jump in ill take you home and feed you.
Half way down the road the hobo says, I have a wife and two kids as well
"Well..." says the lawyer "Bring them two"
"Really...?" ask’s the hobo

"Yes" say the lawyer................"My grass hasnt been cut for months."

My first inclination is to try and help the poor SOB out, and then I think exactly what Dave thinks. It's unfortunate that our society has evolved in a way that strangers can't be trusted. I remember when my Grandmother was alive, she would tell me stories of panhandlers at the back door getting soup from her. The world has changed.
