Grinding noise?

Put lock tight on them so they won't back out.

Follow the above advice. On both my '66 and my son's '68 the same bolts (basically) loosened. I caught the problem before we lost any hardware and reinstalled with red locktite. I've checked the bolts a couple of times since then and they're still nice and tight.

It's the drivers side that fell out. Late yesterday afternoon I took out the same bolt from the passenger's side and ran over to Sears hardware since it's two minutes from the house. They had a bolt and lock washer that were pretty much identical.

While I was there I purchased some locktite and gave the bolts a heavy bath in it before I torqued the bolts back down.

Certainly going to make a habit of checking those two from time to time going forward.
