Has anyone seen Fido?

Lions, and tigers and bears--oh my!

And yes it would be fun--I would use my .243 ---120 grain soft tip led for the smaller critters---.243 prob not enough punch for the big boys---I would have to borrow my buddies .308.

I've got a 6 mm for the smaller guys and can run over to my folks house to borrow a .280 and / or 30.06 for the larger guys.

Not sure if a .357 hollow point would take down a bear or a lion but I wouldn't want to get close enough to find out....

It's too bad that they had to kill all of the Bengal Tigers and Lions.... due to some pyscho who decided to end it all for himself and let them all out before blowing his brains out.

M1 Garand Free Safari. 18 Tigers! I was watching a National Geo on tigers years ago that said a tiger hide is worth 100K?IIRC

I talked to my stepson on the phone tonight. He lives a mile from the farm where this took place. He said he could hear all the shooting and saw the animals carcasses when he drove by.
Damn shame.

Only good thing is that the real jackass killed himself...saves on all the legal stuff he would be entitled to.

Hmmm, I've blown up dead raccoons and cows, but not live ones with a dead one, great idear.

Or owl. That's what you need to do. Feed them barn rascals tannerite and wait for 'em to take flight. That would be friggin awesome.

120g .243? What twist you running to stabilize that? My .243 groups open up badly over 100g.

The 30/06 I inherited from Dad would do the job though.

I had some 120 grain soft tips a guy had made(he said they were 120 grain), I just played with them, I just bought a box of my usual shells today--winchester 100 grain power point---I shoot them out of a remmington 760 pump that I have had over 30 years--still looks like a new gun. I forget the scope numbers and it is locked in the safe and I am too lazy to go get it now---I have no idea what twist that gun has---I have killed a coyote at near 200 yds with the 100 grain bullets.

Jack Hanna; animal protector extraordinaire, was on scene and agreed that due to all the circumstances and the surrounding area, it was safer and the best to shoot to kill. I'd bank money on if it was possible to save the animals, Hanna would have done it.

I'd say the locals were more worried about the safety of the people than the life of the animals. How assinine of them.
