Another thing I've learned on this project is just how easy it is to spend money! We in the mustang hobby are fortunate that just about every single part is available as a re-pop. I'm not saying all the re-pops are good, just available. I bought all new trim and emblem pieces. The cost to restore my originals made this the logical way to go. Same thing for all the interior and exterior chrome bits, exception being bumpers. I plan to buy NOS or find good originals I can have re-plated. The ones on my car were re-pops and not worth saving.
I also bought new gauges and some billet stuff. I didn't want the same old Autometer gauges (although the new muscle car line is cool!) as everyone else so I spent a long time searching and decided to go with Classic Instruments. They are more known for making pieces for nostalgic hot rods or 50's and earlier but I really liked the gauge design and colors that I ended up getting as it matched perfectly with the color scheme of the car.
I got the Lokar pedal more for function than looks. If you look in the background you'll see billet Ring Bros hinges and Street or Track's export brace (bought when first introduced and Shaun put out a good deal).
