It doesn't end. We built our last house and lived there twelve years. Never got all the projects done.
 
Well we're not on the coast but it is getting warmer longer here every year. You can keep you head in the sand but the weather patterns are changing.
 
Im with Terry on this one. Im sure humans are screwing up things with pollution and such but its pretty arrogant of the human race to think they can change the global weather of a planet and base it on data we have only collected for a fraction of earths existence.
Now I am not against protecting the environment but I am not buying "global warming"
And besides, the sand exfoliates my skin and keeps me looking young!

Seriously, guys. Climate change talk has been all over the map for along time now. Back in the late 70's (I think the time frame is correct) people were telling us we had caused a coming ice age. Today we have supposedly caused the melting of the polar ice cap. What do scientists say is under all that ice? Look it up. Might change your perspective a bit. The Earth is an ever changing thing. We have plenty of PROVEN scientific evidence and data to that effect. Changes that happened long before man and his horrible pollution. The Global Warming crowd has a vastly different set of warnings today than they did just 10 years or so ago when their dire consequences were proven wrong.

I'm with Craig in that we can certainly do more to protect the environment than generations past...and we should. But fear of something silly as Chicken Little alarmists would have should not be our impetus.
 
Okay, you guys that say global warming isn't real, well, you're just wrong......Al Gore says so!!! :rolleyes:

So, what can a garbage disposal actually deal with? I remember that my mom always forbade putting anything fiberous like lettuce down the damn thing because the fibers would tangle with the rotor. My wife discovered that coffee grounds will plug the snot out of most disposals. We had a huge plumbing problem in our last house because of the build up of ground up egg shells in the out bound sewer line. The weight eventually cracked the line and flooded the underside of the house. I've personally installed at least a half dozen disposals in the last 40 years, ranging from the el cheapo tract house units to one that cost a small fortune and promised to be able to grind up nails, and they all failed. The one in this house is upscale and, like the house, about 10 years old. I have to occasionally get it rotating again using a huge standard screw driver to unstick the blade. I gave it a blast of WD40 last time and that seems to have cured the problem for now. Now you say that the plumber warned against potato skins. What can they dispose of? Marshmallow?
