Thanks y'all. I feel better now.

Julie (my niece), willed her body to science in hope that it can be used to find a cure for this genetic cancer. Hopefully before her kids have to go through this.

Your post puts things in perspective for me, things could always be worse, my prayers are with you and your relatives and her donating her remains to study demonstrates real courage and love!
 
So sorry to hear of the loss of your young niece, her family is in my thoughts.

My wife is a recent BC survivor, her father had it 10yrs. before and her sister is a survivor, luckily she does not carry the gene even though it is so prevelant in her family, good news for our 11y/o daughter.

It helped myself and her to get involved, we walk the BC races and attend fund raisers when we can. There are usually support groups, meeting places in major cities, we have Gilda's Place (after Gilda Radner SNL) in Nashville.
