Very sorry to hear of this and your troubles. The alcohol angle is especially problematic; I'm glad to hear that you're seeing Alanon. It can be a great group to give support and advice.
If you are both in agreement of divorcing and splitting things up materially and have access to the children worked out, then you might consider mediation over litigation. My practice wife and I went this way and the mediator really got the process off the dime from where the meandering lawyers had it. Usually a flat fee to handle everything. Check it out.
