In-Wall speaker wire

i'm gonna jump in with a question here: since i'm fixing to re-run coax to the new shop, i figured its time to upgrade the old RG59 cable thats presently in the house with RG6Q cable. can anyone recommend a good quality low loss splitter (6 way) with a good return path? also thinking about adding a signal amplifier to make up for the dB loss when it passes thru the splitter. any recommendations?

On the subject of CCTV-I am using a Samsung system, that does not require a Coax, and a 2 conductor power source. The Samsung system only requires a single 4 conductor phone type cable, and it has the video/audio and power source on that phone line. The Samsung system has 2 way audio to ALL cameras and it can cycle through all the cameras in full screen or one quad at a time, great system.

NEVER use wireless cameras, unless you want to broadcast to the world, which is kind of self defeating for a security system.

I think I have everything I need to network my house. I got a lot of it from monoprice.com, some things locally and ebay. Here is what I got:

1000ft RG6 Coax cable with Snap N Seal Connectors (50)
1000FT 24AWG Cat6 550MHz UTP Stranded, In-Wall Rated
NetGear ProSafe 24-Ports with Fiber Slot Switch JGS524F
Tripp Lite SRW12US 12U Wall Mount Rack Enclosure
TRENDnet TC-P24C6 24-port Cat6 Unshielded Patch Panel
500ft 16AWG CL2 Rated 2-Conductor Loud Speaker Cable

I also ordered all the wall plates, mounting brackets and keystones I need for the setup. I ordered some Monoprice in ceiling speakers so that I don't have to look at the speakers hanging from the walls in the family room. I decided not to mess with the phone lines. That is pretty basic and cheap for the builder to do. I plan on mounting the rack in the garage. It will contain the Coax splitter (1 to 8) and the other hardware listed above.

Can you guys see any problems with my setup?

one thing you might consider is a signal amp depending on the signal loss of your particular 1-8 splitter & the length of the rg-6 cables between the splitter & components. thats something easily patched in that can be added later if you have troubles with signal loss.

I did get about 20-1 ft and 5-3 ft cat 6 cables. I did not think about velcro straps. I think I have some at the office but will likely need more. Thanks!

Here is the cabinet I hung in the garage. The patch panel and all ends are terminated and checked. We are ready for Sheetrock. Thanks for the help guys. I ended up running 2 extra cat 6 cables to the crawl space and 1 extra for the attic to drop down the walls for a possible upstairs need.
