I had some door sill accent plates in my garage from a parts car. I been saying I am going to put them on for almost 8 years. So this morning was finally the time to do it. They have picked up a few dents and scratches over the years of use and from piling things on them in the garage.
I marked the dents for work. After the hammer and dolly, I sanded the plates with 220 to 1500 grit. Then hit them with the white compound.
Applied trim tape to the back. This was more to keep them from squeaking than to hold them.
Door Sill before.
Door Sill After
You can see the edge with the door closed.
