Is it sacrilegious?

That almost brings a tear to my eye, good job!

Ditch the stripes, keep it a sleeper...kinda.

FYI.....I just remembered.....the Brembo brake cars have no spare based on the front disc rotor size. No spare made to fit. You get a can of fix-a-flat and air..... But don't let that stop you from buying.

I picked up on that in my research but thanks for confirming what Ford's mysterious language failed to clearly explain.

You think I will be disappointed in the cloth versus leather seating? Visually it is surely inferior but this car is really bare bones save for the performance stuff. Just how I like it, really.

Another vote for the Mustang and hey the V6 is a great car...on par HP wise with the '10 GT. Bought one with the Pony Package and Lemans stripes for my daughter 6 months ago (much better for insurance) and it's a blast to drive. Heck, my wife and I drive it more than she does.

As as a cloth seating, I don't think you'll be dissapointed. I prefer it, but was not optional with the Pony Package.

Personally, I like the leather. The cloth does look good. I have not heard of any issues with the cloth....just personal preferences. The other thing...I prefer the premium dash...full instruments even though they are just idiot gauges.

I was between a Brembo car and the GT/CS we got. Both close in $$$ as the other car was also a glass roof. The biggest thing I saw was not really needing the brakes for street driving. Factory brakes are great unless you plan on tracking the car. As you see, we went for the GT/CS and have no regrets. Of course, it also has many bells and whistles.

I believe it will also have 3:73's in the rear.

There are issues out there with some on the manual 5 speed being notchy and hard shifting when cold. Ford has a TSB to change the fluid and it seems to help most. I have had no issues with mine and I do nit drive it easy. In fact, a local '10 GT500 owner was shocked following me thru town a couple weeks ago. He said good thing we opted out of the GT500...I would be in trouble. lol When you test drive it, try to not start the car until you are ready to drive it away.... Do a couple of quick shifts thru third and see how smooth it feels. Most say that is the main issues area.

The price I saw seemed a bit high....since the '12s are out. Do some dealing. All in all, it is a nice car...you will enjoy it.

My Roush was a five speed and I broke it more than once. Before the twin screw. I will be very interested in how it shifts. With 3.73 in back I can't imagine slow shifting will happen much.

I'm not too worried about the gauges as they are, as you say pretty basic.

The Brembo brakes are a nice addition and the cost isn't too out of line. I spent about that on the Wilwood fronts for my 65 (that are still sitting in a box in the garage!). I do like the wheels that come with the upgrade as well. Here in my area there is a really nice private track (the Autobahn to anybody in the area) where a customer of mine owns a private garage. Yes, we're talking Ferrari kinda guy here. So I have a standing offer to come out and drive that I have never taken him up on before so who knows...maybe I will become more than a straight line racer!

Cost wise, yes, I've been working on them. They've already given me a cost below invoice just talking over the phone. Not real sure how much lower they would go on a car like this that does seem to be selling well. Anybody with real experience in this area feel very free to chime in.

FYI, the base model doesn't come with Microsoft Sync or My Color (if you care). Yellow Blaze is awesome! Also, the P Zero tires on the Brembo cars are great, but they wear fast and are uber expensive. I'm praying to get 10K-15K miles out of them. Now go pick it up!

There's a black 2011 GT that parks crooked in the area I park in at work. The more I see it, the more I want one. It's such a sharp car, even though the driver looks like a total goober and parks like a douche.

Just drive one.........such fun.....

I can only wish at the moment. If I didn't have to have a truck for work(just makes things easier), and if I had the money, one would be in my driveway now. If I drive one, I'll just get depressed when I drive my truck.

There is a new silver Challenger in the garage at work and I've caught myself drooling over it on several occassions.

I do like the '11 Mustangs as well. Hard to match their mix of gas mileage and horse power.

Not so in love with the new Camaro but I've seen a few that guys have customized that are pretty sweet. Next time I go to a local cruise in I'll snap a picture of one newer Camaro I'd like to own. The guy that owns the car owns the body shop next door to my buddy's shop. He doesn't drive it much and modified the crap out of the motor, etc. It's pretty nice but not one I'd use for a DD. The owner just takes it out for shows, cruise ins and the occassional nice day when he's in the mood to haul you know what.

Going to take a drive tomorrow to check this one out. I want to see the color in person but it looks pretty sharp in the pics. We've already have three black vehicles at home now so this one would be a nice change. As long as the insurance man doesn't kill it I think we have a winner.

What do you all think? I like the idea of doing some matte black accents ala vintage Mach 1.

Well........?

go with the Ford not the Fiat.

Ford has absolutely got it right and its showing in their continued strong sales. You've got an opportunity to teach your son a real lesson about where to invest - in failures that get bailed out by the government and then take the profits forward to a foreign government or a company who saw this coming and was proactive to bite the bullet and do something itself.

That gold color is nice..... I sat in one (it was a GT) at Knotts and it fit well and felt good.

I park close to this everyday. Drool over it, turn and look at my truck, and just sigh.....

*UPDATE*

Finally got over to see the car in person. Had a spirited test drive and must admit I really like how it drives. I like the color but not sure I LOVE the color. Been doing a lot of internet browsing and have seen quite a number of different striping designs too. Bottom line is I don't think this particular car is the one for me. I'd rather the cost of the Brembo option go towards a nicer interior. The base is just not doing it for me.

Also, another part of this is my son, remember. I just got some quotes on insuring him and the new mustang...WOW. Between adding him and another car to the insurance my insurance bill will be quite spectacular. Then there is the car payment as well. I must be getting wiser or something as I age. I used to not blink at signing up for a new car payment. Then again, maybe it's just the residual affect of having just mailed off that check to the IRS. :rant

I'm thinking I might hold off a bit, save some more cash for a bigger down payment and if the right one doesn't hit a lot order up exactly what I want. Then again...

I know how you feel .... I saw my insurance TRIPLE overnight when I added the 1st teen driver.

Wait until you see the cost of college tuition. :wth
I "bought" a new GT with the 1st daughter's tuition, and I'm "buying" a Boss 302 with the 2nd one. :soapboxrant

I hope they remeber all this when it's time to pick my nursing home. :nut

They will.....how you never bought them a Mustang......good luck with the nursing home selection.......I hear the one with Mable in it is good......she does the Breathalyzer tests.......from what I hear.......
