Marine Corps dinner with the families of fallen Marines

Yes that was a very nice tribute. All of these type of things that we do for our military makes me so proud to not only have served but to be an American. I do remember the dark times when America did not feel this way about the military. During the 60's when the military was blamed for the conflict, not winning, collateral damage, and the abuse they suffered when they got home. We all know who was to blame for the conflict. But I feel that they did learn from their mistakes. To all of those who make these tributes to our active duty, retired and fallen heroes please do not stop. Thanks again. fd

Sadly, many people don’t understand that these types of tributes do much more than just honor those who died, they are in many cases the only history a family has to share with a young son, or daughter, who was too young at the time to understand who their father was, or what his dying meant. I’ve had the privilege of serving with and now working for, a unit that sustained significant casualties over the years. As time goes by you have the opportunity to meet the children of those KIA whose only real connection to their fathers is the video recorded tributes such as this one. Thanks!
