This was my friend Amy's car. Belonged to her grandparents who gave it to her and her sister to drive while they were going to college. Once I saw this mustang, and rode around in it... I was hooked and knew one day I would have my own mustang... and though it took 12 yrs to get it, I got my own! :thu

For me it was riding in my cousins 84 mustang GT, (red with T-tops) when I was about 14 years old, sliding around corners and burning the tires off. I think it was the first

Mine started when I was a kid riding around with my dad tossing whatever I could find in the car through the hole in the floor behind the driver's seat. haha.

that's good!

My first real strong memory was when my dad bought a 66 coupe that was badly rusted and windows were broke out. He wanted the engine. The car would eventually be stripped and junked but while it was in our driveway, I would sit in it and daydream about driving it. I was maybe 6 years old at the time. I would sit in it almost every day until it went away. I begged him to keep it but it was really bad. I think the vinyl top was pealed off and top was ruined, floors had holes and rear quarters were shot. This would have been early 70's so it had no value but I remember every detail. Red on red 289 auto with console and 68/69 GT wheels like Kat's.

Mine started when my parents purchased there first ever new car an early 66 6 cy, 3 speed car that they spent hours at dealership ordering just the way they wanted it. (For those of you not old enough to remember back than that was a big deal) Anyway it was there first new car and I can still remember the Lic plate number of the car. Went all the way accross country in it with 3 of us and two full size metal milk cans that my mother purchased in Iowa on the way out, so I got the pleasure of sharing back seat with them for 5 weeks.

Than the day I turned 16 I purchased a 67 fastback and it's been a Mustang of one type or another every since

Turned 13 on the day they hit the dealer in '64..drool/drool....always had a liking for them. Just took a LONG time to get to the point in life where I could have them and enjoy them. Always had old cars and trucks around though.

My dad bought a new 65 Mustang. You can see in the garage in the first picture. I started my first year in college with a new 1966 Mustang (second picture). My favorite was a new 1970 Mustang (third picture) that I bought after driving a friend's new Boss 302--it was a busy drive but I loved the shaker hood, spoiler front and back, and sport slats which I got on the Mach 1.

I guess I was brainwashed from a young age. I had 2 sisters and a brother that were quite a bit older than I was (last of 5).

oldest sister - 70 Boss 302
brother - 65 coupe
other sister - 71 Boss 351

So you can see I was doomed :skul

My first car I bought for myself was a 69 coupe. So was the second. Now after a looooong drought I finally got the Mach.

My Grandmother worked at the Ford dealer in Waco for years after they sold the Dairy farm and moved to town when my Mom was about 17 ish.

We had numerous Fords in the family through the years due to Gram's job.

My first car was an '82 F150 but back in high school a friend's dad used to build Mustangs and built my friend a really sweet '65 (maybe '66...don't recall) Fastback that I always thought was really nice. Another high school buddy's dad ran a shop and he had a '67 Cougar they had totally restored. Never liked the Cougars as well as the Mustangs but they are pretty close kin.

I owned an '87 Mustang years ago. I hated the car...it was a hand me down 4 banger I inherited from my older sister. I traded that pos off as soon as I got a chance.

My grand parents were Americans. Grandpa retired from Florida to Boone, North Carolina.

I remember visiting him and seeing 65/66 Mustangs 2+2's booting around the mountain roads. They were almost always jacked up in the back.

I fell in love with the Mustang.

Not the jacked up thing though :)

I've been a die hard Ford guy from the beginning. I caught the Mustang fever when I was 13 or 14. My friends neighbor had a 69 Mach 1 in the yard that clipped a tree with the right quarter. Every time I went to his house, I would go over and check out the car. I swore I would own a 69 Fastback.. Got my 65 Coupe on my 16th birthday and finally could get a 69 seventeen years later... I later found out the 69 I drooled over everyday sold for $2500 needing nothing more than a quarter panel..... :rant
