My son bought a Honda

Heat the bolt and then let it cool. Heating the bolt is easier and more effective than trying to heat the balancer, plus there may be rubber on the back side of the balancer holding the inner and outer halves together (Honda sometimes uses this type and sometimes doesn't). Obviously you are correct that heating the bolt expands it, but it also breaks up anything that might be preventing it from loosening. Once cooled, it should come right off.
Thanks, I will try that!

If it is a StangFix thread, the thread always gets derailed somehow...

I'm afraid to see what alaina will want when she gets to driving age. The kids will all be running around in fart can Honda's talking about how they are "classics" and look how small the spoilers were back then. Maybe they'll start putting giant spoilers on the hood or something.

When I read the subject line I thought for sure this would have gone a different way. Had it been my kid we'd be talking about what to do with his recently vacated bedroom. A Honda... :char

That is why you raise them right from an early age....make them listen to classic rock and drive old Mustangs. Worked for my kid..... :yah

On Fridays all the local high school kids show up at the In N Out burger joint...most are driving those Honda tuners. My son has fun when he and his friends pull up in classic cars and get all the attention.....and the girls!

well he has enough girls (my grand daughter being one of them!) but I agree, I tried to raise him right. He drove my hand-me down T-Bird with an HO 5.0 conversion for many years.

If my kid rolled up in a Honda he had bought he would know it had better have a big enough trunk to load up all his crap because I would kick his butt out of the house! I can handle the non-mustang but NEVER a non-American make. I got at least that much redneck in me.

Funny, all the "American" cars are covered in made in Canada/China/Mexico/Croatia stickers, but there is a Honda plant 45 minutes away from me :hide

For the record, I still hate Hondas

I hate this argument. Just about everything these days has parts etc. made in one place and assembled in another. That Honda plant is no exception. Plenty of made in Japan and other location parts get bolted on there just as in a Ford or GM plant. The only thing that matters to me is where the company is based/headquartered. Where whatever profit dollars end up. Every dollar spent on an American owned company product does more for Americans and our country than having part of it go to a foreign entity.

I wonder if people would feel the same about car brands owned by entities from North Korea or Libya or Iran if they were allowed to open up manufacturing plants in the States. Anybody got a problem with handing cash over to any of them?

and I agree 100%
I used to work for Caterpillar and it ate me up to see UAW members driving Honda's, Toyota's, etc.

I agree completely. And that is why I own two Fords and the next vehicle I purchase will be a Ford also. I try to make all of my large purchases with American brands whenever possible.

Sorry, I did not word my earlier post well, I was not making an argument that the big 3 are no longer American because they use foreign parts. Just a joke gone awry, sarcasm doesn't transmit well over the internet...

Not to worry, I understood your post. I was directing mine toward those who DO TRY to make that argument. Drives me crazy. But then again, lots of stuff drives me crazy anymore. About time I started to chase kids off my lawn I guess.
