Thanks. I followed AtlantaSteve's instructions to post the picture, then removed the small one like he said. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Hmmmmm, riding the bike in the Mankini? Note to self, bring a camera on the next ride.

With only a mankini to protect your crack from a bike seat, you would be better off bringing a cushion

Not if you have "buns of steel" :lol

I must inform you all that I took my last ride on the Miyata 610. We went from my house in Union City over to Palo alto for lunch and back, it sure was a memorable ride. She was just sold to a very kind bike enthusiast for 300 dollars. Money is going towards a bigger bike in order to enjoy longer distance riding.

Thanks for the suggestion Craig. I will be training on the 615 until I find a 58 or 59cm road bike. I will make sure the seat is correct on the 615 before I hit the road.

Craig, I admire your bike collection my friend, I just love the history of things therefore the only things that I ever bought new we're usually the ex-wifes stuff. (oh yeah, and underwear, cant never get that stuffed used, i guess you can, but I could never do it)

Totally diggin that black Schwinn Sellersrodshop.

Just cut a deal about three hours ago for a 1981 Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 from a gentlemen out in Fresno. Hopefully he will stay true to our deal and I will be heading on a roadtrip Sunday to pick her fine a$$ up. Oh yeah I'm excited.

Abe, before you buy that bike, what's your height & inseam? Have you owned a 58cm bike before? I sure hope you have the legs to raise that seat up 1-2" for the Fresno owner has it way too low. I must also comment that buying a bike with 27" wheels really limits you to tire brand selection.

*shrug* that might not work as well as I thought. I tested it when I said it worked but I might be wrong. I'll retest and edit the main article if need be. Thanks for the head's up!

Hey Craig, sorry for the delay, I measured myself at 33" for the inseam and on good days I measure 6'1" but I just tell people when they ask that Im 6 even.

The 27" wheels are very limited so I have been told, something about it being a popular 80's size wheel. Someone mentioned about upgrading to a 700c wheel, not sure what that means but worst case scenario I can sell her later if it doesnt work out.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Abe,
32-33" inseam sounds OK but until you straddle the bike, you never know. 700c is smaller in diameter as compared to 20", thus causing the brake pads to be dropped. Some brakes will not allow such a drop. So until someone with bike knowledge sees the bike's brake setup, it's hard to tell if you will easily be able to swap from 27 to 700c.

Thank you soo much for all the info Craig, I really appreciate it, fairly new to the bike thing. I have always just walked into shops and let the sales guys that sometimes know just as much as I do tell me what I need.

Once I get there, I will MOSTdefinitely take her for a nice ride and really feel her out and make sure shes the one for me.

Any other things that I need to keep an eye for please chime in and let me know.

Thanks everyone
