My wife and I have been.....

.....needing to get some exercise going that we both could enjoy besides the real fun stuff. :naug We decided to look into bike riding but her knees limited her to trikes so I would not have other medical to deal with. So, looking at the normal trikes, we decided they would not work well due to me getting ahead of her to easy and having to wait sooooo, we looked at tandem trikes. $$$$$ :yikes, enough to scare a guy. $1500 and up. Then, the wife decides that she does not want to look at my back all the time. So, the next item is side by side riding. The local area is real flat so this will work. The recumbent type we looked at just were not for us either plus, bigger $$$$. I want to enjoy this, not buy the whole company. I found this place, http://worksmancycles.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page41.html but they were still a bit pricey. So, I backed off looking for a while and then a couple days ago, I stumbled on to this.

Just what I want, fully decked out, and used. Less than two years old, 3 speed, ridden maybe 20 miles and stored inside. The sellers paid close to $2200 out the door and I got it for about 1/3 that price. Borrowed Midlife's small trailer and me, the wife, & our dog put the top down on the '07 GT and cruised out at 5:30 am. Got to the sellers about noon and made the deal, loaded it and headed home.

Now, since I was within 5 miles of the Ocala, Fl. NPD, I had to stop and pick up some '66 odds and ends that I just hated to pay shipping on.

Got home at 6 pm. Long day, good drive in the Mustang with the top down for all but 2.5 hours of the trip. People sure do look at the GT funny when the tires squeal and there is a loaded trailer behind it..... We ran back roads all day. Mostly 60 -65 mph. With the trailer and stuff, I got 17-18 mpg.

Got the bike unloaded and made a few passes around the RV park. We are really looking forward to this for sure. This bike is heavy duty, well built, and easy to operate. Just right for a couple of old farts.......lol

Cool trike Pete :toot When Deb and I used to go to Ft Meyers and visit her Grandparents, all the really old farts would be riding around in those :nice

The seats are adjustable for and aft. That one was loose when the pic was taken. The adjuster is a large wing nut and a clamp, not sliders like a car. Hmmmmm, a mod...... As for the bars, I was curious with that too. If I steer, I have one hand on the grip on my side. Linda seems to keep her hands in her lap. Same if she is steering. If both have their hands on the bars, it has to be decided early on who will be the passive one. The bars do sit as if designed for one person in the middle. I have some mod ideas there too. Also, gotta build a rack to carry it with.

As I said in my last line of the post....old farts.....cuz I knew someone would come up with it.

That looks cool. My concession to getting old was buying a cruiser-style bike a couple of weeks ago. A U-frame with almost a slightly pedal forward geometry. Much, much, much, much (etc) more comfy on my ass and hands to ride than either the mountain bike or my old street bike. So what if they look gay, I am old enough not to give rat's ass how groovy I look riding my bicycle anymore...

[Carnac]I see another set of roller spring perches in your future [/Carnac]

You're in FLORIDA! Isn't the entire state flat? :crazy

Actualy, no. We have some "hills", but you gotta' look pretty hard to find them.

Highest point in FL = any overpass :nice

I came from Az living next door to the second tallest mountain, 10,750 ft. to come to Fl., with a max rise of 347 ft. I figure we could dang near cover the entire state.....eventually, lol

As for an engine, the wife frowned on a small block V8 but liked the possibility of moding this (80cc) to fit. We could use it more with that and still pedal most of the time.

And, of course, this morning, she was out pedaling her but around the RV park.......hmmmm.....did that sound right?

thats cool pete, Be careful of local laws if you put any size motor on it. Here if its bigger then 50cc, you have to have a special moped license to drive, and the vehicle needs plates.

Yea, I will look into it. My wife and I both hold current motorcycle lic. so we should be covered I would think. The engine will come later down the road. I want to get the weight down, then play with it.

:bird

Why anybody would have looked for that program is beyond me...........but I could do some spoke work........lol

Yo, I gots some bad ass deck of cards and multi color clothes pins homie. Yo bike can hab dat cool sound in da park bro :nice

Well, hell, the wife was doing the bit of running along side......is that how it's done?

Pete, Keep in mind that pedaling those crafts with proper tire pressure is so much easier.
