Hi, I am a long time Mustang fan and have had multiple Mustangs over the years.

Currently in my stable is a 2012 Shelby GT500, 2003 Mach 1 and I finally got my dream car last fall a 1968 Shelby GT350 Fastback. <--- the 68 came to me on a trailer as it wasn't road worthy. I drove it a few times last year after getting 'it certified' or road worthy. But it is still a project car and as much as I enjoy it have discovered that my frame has issues working on the tight spaces of the interior of this car.

Still enjoy and will keep on keeping on.

Great collection! We had a 2003 Mach 1 for a bit, I really enjoyed that car even though it caused me lots of issues. It is one of those I should never have sold.

Thanks. What issues did you have with your Mach1? I am the 1st owner of mine and have never had any issue. I find it very reliable and makes me smile every time I drive it. I have never cracked the motor either, i.e. no internal engine mods etc. I do like my AFS black chrome deep dish wheels.

The 2003 4-valve 4.6s are notorious for spitting out spark plugs. It is the only year where Ford screwed up and the plug only has about three thread that hold it in. Under hard power they are known to just launch the plug. It is a known issue, and there is actually a fix for it.

Oh I recall that years back. I have the 2003 (April 2003, build date) and never had an issue. I think this was only for the early build motors. I think the term 'notorious' is a bit harsh but sure okay.

You may think it is harsh, but when multiple companies have come up with a solution for a known problem then I think it is a fair assessment. Interesting enough this happen to a lot of 3 valve 4.6s in the trucks and Expeditions as well. If you have never had to pull the driver's side valve cover off that motor while it was in the car then you have never really felt the pain.
