Other projects

Lots of cool stuff there Craig. I wish my wife was as forgiving of car projects as yours.

I really wanted to do a wagon someday.

I picked up an 87 jeep Cherokee that I'm doing a mild restoration on now.

that's cool.
I am fortunate that my wife doesn't mind too much.
The 61 Impala is really her car!IMG_8795.jpgIMG_8797.jpg

I offered to build a car for my wife, she said she didn't want anything.

well my wife has always put up with my hobby and I think even at times enjoyed it but with this car she has taken ownership. I will admit I like the car too but I wasn't as interested in buying it. My wife just fell in love with it. It's tame but powerful, it's huge but easy to drive, it gets 20mpg and most of all has AC! She named it "Marge" and calls it her big red barge! So I am a car guy and if she wanted her own hot rod I couldn't say no! It is by far a much better Power Tour car than any of my others. With EFI and basically a stock LS3 and 4L80E trans (other than a higher stall convertor Jerry installed) it's like driving a brand new car. Jerry went thru all the suspension and converted it to disc brakes so it handles pretty good and stops good as well. It turns lot of heads too. Lots of trunk space for road trips too!

LS swapped in. That's gotta make for a nice cruiser!

Are you taking it on the power tour this year?

It is a nice cruiser.
I'm not sure if I will do the Power Tour this year. My wife got a new job late last year and won't have any vacation time in June. If I go I will be going by myself.

PICS!!! I need pics under the hood of the Impala. Sounds like an awesome resto-modded ride. Isn't that engine rated at over 500 hp?!

Sweet ride.
I wish I had room for a car like that.

Oh here is the 72 Chevy you mentioned

there is a pic in post #23 under the hood. It is rated at just under 500hp. It is a string engine, the stall is something like 2400 rpm, Jerry couldn't remember. It is noticeable but not horrible. I don't beat on it too much, Jerry keeps asking if I have but I treat it more like a cruiser than a hot rod. It's pretty heavy car but powerful enough to be fun.

The truck can be a pain to park. But it's so clean. 7.3T with a 5 speed.

The Iroc is awesome. I've always loved the look of them.
