People talking on their cell phone?

I won't lie... there were times when hubby was deployed and I was so bored I would go walk around Walmart just to laugh at people. I also won't lie about the fact I have gone to wally world in the middle of the night in my pj's (sweatpants and shirt) & house slippers. :lol I didn't care. I had a newborn baby and living on 2hrs a sleep at most a day. To heck with what people thought!

Hehehehe was in Wal-Mart the other day around 2PM and had many rude people on phones blocking isles I needed to get down or standing in front of products I wanted to look at. Also say a 20's ish woman dressed in pink PJ pants with a sort of checkered pattern and a big coat since it was cold outside.

I love people watching at Wal-Mart. You should hear some fo the stories SWMBO comes home with about the people that shop at her store.

hehehe,

Mel

I had the "privilage" of listening to the status of one of the Snookies at the "Jersey Shore" house across the street. Who's hooking up with who, who's being cheated on,, blah, blah, blah. She decided to have these chats outside, at high volume, so the ENTIRE neighborhood could hear her. She was a foul mouthed lil girl too. :fbomb galore.
No lie, it's an entire house of high school girls who ALL dressed up as Snookie for Halloween. Yup, a gaggle of Snookies. And no, I didn't get pics, you pervs........

.......my wife was standing right next to me when they showed up.

My cell phone is for my convenience and nobody elses, unless I'm out during business hours and my boss calls. Otherwise if I am talking to somebody person to person, I don't even look at who is calling me. If it is interupting the conversation I'll pull the phone out my pocket to silence it but it goes right back in the pocket. Even if its my wife, I'll note that she is calling me, and call her back when the timing is better. There are few exceptions, and that includes the kids school and say the neighbor, neither of whom call me regularly, and when they do, its typically important.

I do talk regularly on the bluetooth while driving. I don't like talking on the phone at work nor at home when I could be playing with the kids or hanging with the wife or working on the car, etc. Talking while driving is free time to talk. That said, I have years and years of experience talking on radios while flying and the aviation adage is "aviate, navigate, communicate," and I do the same thing on cell phone while driving. I'll be talking to my wife, need to pay attention to traffic, and the conversation stops. She'll be like "hey, are you still there?" and I'll either not reply at all depending on attention required or reply "hang on, traffic" while I focus on driving.

Back to the OP, I gotta agree with Pete, if its forbidden, its forbidden. If its unfair relative to normal conversation, take up an effort to get the rule changed.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Work has been SUPER busy lately!

A few months ago I was standing in a long line at one our local banks waiting to get up to the teller. There is a sign in front of each tellers window that states "NO CELL PHONE USE WHILE AT THE TELLER WINDOW". The line was moving at a snails pace when my cell phone starting ringing. Not being at "the tellers window" I answered my phone. As it turned out it was my son calling from Iraq. 30 seconds into the call I felt a tap on my shoulder from a bank representative who then pointed to the sign in front of the tellers window. I paused from my call for a second to inform the old hag that with 20 people still standing in front of me I was no where near the "teller's window". She then stated that cell phone use while standing in line was prohibited. I asked her where this policy was written and she again pointed to the same sign. She insisted that I immediately end my call. I told her in no uncertain terms that I would continue talking until I reached the teller's window. She returned a few moments later with her bank manager in tow. The bank manager actually tried reaching for my phone to end the call... wtf? I ended the call and went on a "dave gone wild" rant right there in the middle of the bank. I told her that if instead of patroling the 30 deep line for cell phone use abusers maybe she should shift priorities and open 3-4 of the vacant teller windows so that there wouldn't be a line to begin with. When she asked me to leave I refused until I had closed my account. F*** that bank! I wasted an hour of my life there every month standing in line and it wasn't even our primary bank.

The cell phone users that bother me are:

1. At the movies. WTF?

2. People who use a blue tooth ear piece, talk on the phone and stare right at you while they're talking to someone else on the the phone. WTF? If you're not talking to me, don't stand there looking at me. It never fails that I say something stupid to them... "Are you talking to me?"... or "Huh?".... and then they point at their ear-piece to signify to me that they're on a phone call. Good for you buddy, but you're an idiot.

I have found that some people get upset because I don't answer when they call. When I recall them, I explain I was busy and some act like I should bow to their requests. Then, the next time they call....it is longer before I call back....... Cell phones have put so many on an "I demand your time" attitude.

Dave, can you post the banks video of your "gone wild" day?

I have to agree that cell phones have gotten out of control. I work in retail and it is one of my biggest pet peeves. When some jackoff comes up to the register on their phone and gives me attitude for trying to ask them a question, like I am so rude for interrupting their IMPORTANT call. I have had people actually apologize to the people on the phone that I interrupted their conversation!!!!!! Then they complain about how no one helped them in the store while they were on the phone.

Sorry Rant over now.

Those people wont be happy if they come to OZ.
There is a big push here in the retail sector whereby anyway on a phone doesnt get served.
lots of stores have a sign on the counter "Customers using Mobile phones will NOT be served".
I think its a great idea.
In OZ it is illegal to use a mobile phone while driving and if caught, the penalty is 3 demerit points and a fine of at least $225.00.
My genuine Nokia hands free car kit cost less than that and has been in 3 cars and used for 4 phones, the latest being the i-phone, so i have no sympathy for anyone who gets caught.

That's it, I'm moving there! I wish I could just walk away and not even help them. or drop the :fbomb on them!

I go to Starbucks every morning for my daily energy boost. Every day there is some 20's women chatting away on her phone which holds up the line. So about two weeks ago I noticed that she was on her phone as the starbucks guyw as trying to take her order and I yelled FIRE!! , she turned around annd hung up the phone in panic. I said well at least you got off the damn phone. Please place your order so we can get to work.

That girl was so mad at me I swear she stared me down for 5 minutes even after she got off the phone. I of course had a shit eating grin on my face.

Do like I do. Give 'em a quick glance and skip 'em. I've instructed all my employees to do the same even if the customer is getting ready to say something to one of the employees. When they get pi$$y I just tell them we didn't want to interrupt them. Some get it, some don't.
