Pioneer Audio freebies!

That is awesome news. I wish I could win something like that. I agree about posting a blog if you have the opportunity to. Us over on the Best coast likely won't have the benefit of taking our cars on the Tour. :cry

Have the copilot keep us updated while you drive. See if the pioneer folks can hook up some WiFi....
:lol
I'll do my best to post up some news. I don't have a "blog" so it will be on here somewhere...

I'll make it an article on the front page so they can come see it!

Nice! Craig, you probably dont have the time right now, but it would be cool in the article if you wrote about how you came up with the idea to do the Power Tour and what you did to get the car ready, etc. I'm looking forward to reading about the trip as I would love to do one, eventually.

Congratulations on the pionner stuff. I am curious how they are going to mount the component stuff. You are getting 5 ways 6x9's, I am jealous. Have fun on the tour.

The shop Pioneer hired to do the install is in Bowling Green. The installer called me and I went by the shop this morning so we could discuss the plan. They took measurements and are going to pre-build some enclosure for the trunk and they said they could use/modify my kick panels (which already have 5 1/2" Sony Explode speakers from Wally World). I also already have 6x9's in my rear package tray and the head unit I have is a JVC and I already cut the radio bezel for it. They said they are trying to "upgrade" the head unit because they said with the other components it would be better! So we'll see. They said it would be a pretty easy install and would take only a few hours with the pre-work done. The enclosure is going to be black, I thought that would look best. The installer has a wicked 69 Camaro that will be at the Pioneer Tent, he has to take out his Alpine stuff but they said he could put his car there if it had Pioneer stuff in it so he is going to swap it out for the show. Anyway, the two amps and sub-woofers will go into the enclosure and they said they could get all the speakers to fit what I have already. I guess there are some little tweeters that will also go into/on the kick panels. Anyway, these are not kids and they seem to know there stuff.

Have you priced out the stereo package?

Joe had the Pioneer Premium components installed in his '68. Retail + labor and he's close to $4k. I don't drive his car very often, but when I do you can probably hear me from Kentucky. I've never gone to full volume as it would probably cause my head to expolde. Congrat's Craig. Pioneer picked the right guy for this.
