Point to point internet

I need to get a good internet connection into my shop. I do not want to hard wire it between the buildings as there is no way I am hanging a cable overhead and I have concrete surrounding the house and shop. The shop is a metal building with an outside layer of metal, 6" of insulation and then an inside layer of metal. I barely can get cell phone service in the building and I live near a tower. I am thinking point to point antennas are the way to go, but don't know where to start. The distance is not far, maybe 75', but the structures make it difficult. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup?

Just buy two point to point wifi routers and aim them at each other or run a mesh network like eero.

Super easy.

PS, how far is the distance? MH

The mesh system may or may not work due to that layout of the shop and the house. I would need an external router on the shop, as there are no windows on the building. I would prefer to put an antenna on each building and hardwire to the inside of the building to a wireless access point.

Go see a therapist about your porn addiction and then get back to work on the Bronco
As I am tackling things on this build that I have never done before, access to YouTube videos is quite helpful. I am just finishing up the complete rewire of the fuel injection and engine harness and the firewall harness. No way I could have done it without help from a YouTube friend. I still need to rebuild the 4R70W and the transfer case....no doubt online help will be appreciated as well.

Besides not having the windows for security issues, there is one major reason I don't have windows in the building...no not Terry's reasons.....SPIDERS! I hate them and they love to gather in window sills.

Spiders don't love windows. They build webs there because insects gather there trying to escape when they see daylight...and to get away from porn craving old men watching smut in their garages.
You certainly are a expert on all things smut. I know, you are into dirty househusband porn. {.}

Now if you don't have anything to add to this thread, move along! I am looking for real help here, not wanna be builders who just slap together shiny car parts on their kitchen counters and call it a "project".

You trying to horn in on my business?

What distance do you want to cover?

You can buy some old tech cheap that will do what you want. You need a removable antenna that can be replaced with an external antenna that can be aimed at a second device at the house. They can be either hard wired in to your existing network or a second radio or WiFi signal.

I'm looking for the parts and will post when I find it.

This is just like the broadband network I deployed in Brawler, CA.

Check newegg.com. I saw these on a quick look. I think you would need two. There may be other options as well. This will give you an idea.

Covering about 75’ between the buildings.

At 75' you can get a couple Linksys WiFi routers and point them at each other from the eves.

What's wrong with a 75' piece of string and two tin cans? Worked when we were young.

They had tin cans that long ago? I figured they were still using parchment paper to wrap up foodstuffs way back then.
