Put our house up for sale today.

Well looks like I need to start packing. We worked out the offer on the new house. After several days of back and forth offers they finally accepted our price and agreed to pay for the roof to be replaced once the weather warms up.

Closing is scheduled for march 20th. I've got five weeks to get all our stuff packed up.

Now you get to find out just how much stuff you have. :rr I do not even want to think about moving, been here 23 years, way too much crap around here.

Oh and congrats on deciding to stay in that cold place, I think it got up to the low 80's here today. :bow But we sure could use some rain. Moonbeam (our goobinoor) declared drought here. Not going to be happy if they say I cannot wash my cars.

We have been slowly getting rid of crap for the last year. Lots of trips to goodwill and selling big stuff on craigslist. But we still have a ton of crap. Not looking forward to the actual move. My garage is going to be a nightmare. Way to much crap in there. Plus I'll have to have the mustang towed.

Moving....it sucks. My wife and I had a solid year of garage sales.....7 days a week....when we sold out to do the RV. We had stuff from my Mom and Dads collecting plus ours. Triple on so many tools and household items. We had to laugh one day because we were frustrated after about 6 months that sales slowed down but when we figured our sales, we had over a grand from two days of sales.

Mark every item you put in a box or that will be the one item you desperately need first.

Glad you managed a good deal on housing. That makes it a lot easier. Also, don't forget to take a deep breath and relax once in a while to save each others nerves. Good luck.

Congratulations Pat. Moving does suck, it feels like everything is controlled by deadlines! Once we were finally moved and into the new house we threw out the term "deadline" when it came to unpacking and replaced it with "goal".

Good luck!

Well we did get a good deal on it. It's been vacant since last July and owned by a relocation company out of Illinois. They reduced the price every couple months and we ended getting it $10,000 below their last list price, almost $90,000 below the assessed value plus a new roof.
