Radio

The radio has a direct battery connection to allow it to maintain some memory functions but it should not have a draw anywhere in the area they are telling you. If memory serves there are actually two power connections with one being keyed which provides power to the actual radio function, etc. perhaps it has been hooked up incorrectly? I will be home later this week and can measure any draw mine might show and report back.

I went i today to “film” what they were doing to send to Retrosound. At one point, one guy said that the “memory wire” was bridged in 3 different places. I was like “well undo them, connect one, and see what happens”. If need be, disconnect ALL the memory - o can live without since I only use USB and don’t use the clock. We’ll see.
 
I hooked my memory wire to the back of the cigarette lighter. I don't understand the bridging of the connection that was done
 
Yeah. It seemed weird to me. Initially they said (you should probably get a new radio. You might catch your car on fire”. F.
 
I did a quick test back at the battery and see almost nothing being drawn when the key is off. My meter shows maybe a couple milliamps. Nothing that is going to drain a battery unless the car sits in the garage for a REALLY long time. Shut up {.}

I suggest disconnecting the radio power connections. Testing for current draw again. Then hooking it back up correctly. I sincerely doubt there is anything wrong with your radio.
 
Awesome! Thanks! I don’t think there’s anything wrong either. I think the shop in CA hooked up the wires incorrectly (too much hooked up to the “memory”). I have the current ship in VA disconnecting everything that goes to the memory.
