Replacing interior brackets, does this plan sound reasonable

'67 fb, it had alot of sheetmetal work and the shop lost the mounting brackets for the fold down seat and the carpeted panel behind it.
Trying to find measurements one where to place brackets, but that's not been easy.
But here's what I've decided to do.
Does this make sense?
Start at the rear of the car, I had the two rear tabs for the flat carpeted panel, so I centered those L/R and tack welded them in. (the scews in the panel were 35" wide and the car was 44" there)
Best I can tell the brackets went as far back as you could get them. Abutting against the vertical part to the trap door area.
Once the brackets were in place I mounted the flat panel to it and centered it. Then I took the rear bracket off the fold down seat and screwed it to the front of the flat carpeted panel.
This shows about where the next bracket should go, I've fabed some L brackets and will next bolt them to the fold down seat bracket. (I think a few shims should be put it to give some room to adjust) and tack the bracket down.
Hopefully this will get the fold down seat brackets in the correct spot?

I don't have the lower seat portion to test fit that in, not sure if that comes in to play as the seat folds and rest down?

I guess then I will begin to install the fiberglass panels and see how it fits?
Any thoughts on this idea?
If I can get a measurement on the L bracket before tacking it in, it would help. Perhaps measuring from one of the holes on the L bracket to a spot on the hump further back or to the gas tank cut out?

I had to go through this issue not too long ago. If you do a rough in of the rear deck lid, you really dont have much of a choice as the where the L brackets fall into place, especially if you install the interior quarter panels.

I have tested the panels in, but I am also missing the lower three brackets for it. But I think it pretty much hugs the car so well that there is little room for error

I guess the seat rests on the center hump as well as the fiberglass panels??

Yes and if you have lots on sound deadening material beside insulation, etc, it will cause the seat to be up a little more than normal.

OK, I just found a few drawings of a couple fastbacks L bracket positioning I did some time ago. The ones in my 68 were also removed so I had to go through the agony of trying to locate them. I can scan what I have and send them to you but keep in mind not all the cars had identical dimensions which is not new for Fords assembly line.

You will need to give me a couple days to scan and I can turn them into PDF files or jpeg.
 
I have a selection of pictures of my fastback with no interior in it showing measurements for most of the brackets. If I find them later I'll post to help as well. Its a common question so it would be good to have them here on the site for future reference.
 
Sam, I agree. Thought I threw my measurements out but alas there they were under a ruble of papers. Will scan them tonight and yes post them here.
 
Looks like I'm missing the ones you need. Here is what I have though.

Important note: Cars get hit, repaired for rust or collision, and settle. Like other body work, you can match my dimensions exactly and your interior won't fit right. You MUST mock up your interior before you final weld anything. Screw it in place, tack it in place, regardless, put the brackets as close as you can, fix them there, and then put the interior together and make sure everything goes together right. Take it apart, weld it, and then put it all back in again before you paint anything. Its a tedious process, but must be done that way to ensure a proper fitting interior when you are done.
