Got the new price from the cheaper company to remove the existing shingles first--$7,338.00. Now it's getting more realistic as far as I'm concerned. They'll probably get my business, but I have several more quotes coming in.

No matter who you use, ask for references.....and get some from customers that they serviced a few years back. If they are good, they will have no problem with that. Price does sound better. I had an 1800 sq. ft. home in Safford. Local company I knew wanted $5000 for a new roof done the right way about 4 years ago.
