Sad/happy day....

Well, today is the last day of Classic Mustang ownership for us. We started playing with Mustangs only in '99, but always had something "old" around since I started driving in 1965. Been thru motorcycles, trucks, cars, and who knows what else (even had classic bicycles for a while). Kind of a sad day....but also happy because the car is going to a good home. Never thought this day would come as I always said I would never get out of classics......but some medical issues tend to change things. Yes, I could "tough it out" but that is not what will work best for both of us as I have to be able to deal with my wife's issues and help her. Me being laid up makes it real difficult.....

Anyway, the car gets transferred around 4pm today and will have a nice run to it's new home. The new owner is flying in and after some pointers on the car, it will head north on Sunday. Keep your eyes out if near the north bound routes from Fl. to Ky., you just might spot it.

As I said, sad but happy.........but I refuse to leave this nut house.

Sorry to hear, but I'm sure the memories will last forever. Who knows, somewhere down the line maybe you'll be bit by another bug that will surely bring enjoyment.

At least you know that the Mustang is going to a good place. Hopefully from time to time you can check up on the old girl through emails and pics if you want.

Good to hear that you are not leaving, I'm sure your knowledge and advice on restoring these babies will be usefull for us less experienced nuts. I know I'll have a million questions in the near future.

At least your wife can't say that because she still has you :bowdown

Sorry to hear you're giving up your classic but family comes first. Keep the faith old buddy, if it's meant to be another old mustang might stumble into your garage someday. Glad you're sticking around here though.

Yep.......the sale if final......no longer have the keys. It will be heading thru Montgomery and Birmingham as it heads north. The gentleman that purchased it will be enjoying a sweet ride home for sure.

Aaaaahhhhh..................

Yep, sure does.....but I have grown tired of the constant pains in my lower back from just a bit of work on the old cars so this is the way to end that for now. Plus, when I am hurting to much, the wife has no help in getting things done that she needs taken care of. On the bright side....the '11 GT/CS is a blast to drive.

Also, the '66 will be around here still too.

Really sorry to hear Pete.

I hope you stick around to share your classic Mustang wisdom as well as your sense of humor.

Sorry to hear that you let go of your classic AZPete..Please dont leave the site because you have a head load of MUSTANG info and ideas :thu I know what you mean about working on the classics they are a pain and taking care of the wife is #1.Again please stay around you are a great access to this site..God bless

Ya know, I guess if after you've messed around with old stuff for forty years it would be tough to get out of that habit, but also, in your situation Pete, your priorities have changed. The iron may be gone, but the friendships you've made here will go on without the car. Taking care of your wife is obviously numero uno. Good luck moving forward. My best to your wife as I hope she finds some resolution to her health problems. With a little luck, we'll se ya at MBB IV.

There it goes........ Sure sounded sweet as he accelerated to get thru the light.....we won't say what color the light was....lol

Too bad that you've given up your "vintage" club card. I guess you can only peruse the new car part of the forum now :part

Yea, right....like you are staying off the racing forums and hanging on the blown engine homes............

Midlife will always be here for you if and when it breaks down.

Fixed it for ya.....oh, wait...one must move the car for it to actually "break" so it is noticed.........

At least my car breaks at WOT, not rotting in a garage....unloved and undriven!

Just to set the record straight, my car does not sit in the garage and rot. On the contrary, it is taken out twice a weekend for a good 15 mile drive each day. It has been lovingly restored, and I do not wish to thrash and break it so bad that it will sit in the garage and rot because it can't be driven.

Pete...we're all gonna get there one day.....Happy that you will be sticking sround here though. :thu :thu
