Seats

Always on vacation!
I am wondering if I should go through with the mods to put the high back seats I was given in the car and be safe, or go through putting the stock seats back in. If I kept the high backs in it I would need some seat covers until I can get them redone.

I have to do the work without SWMBO knowing, she is a bit protective of me and my healing up right now. I wish she could understand I am not going to push it. I can call the neighbor kid to help me work on it so I don't have to lift the seats in and out.

anyway, I like the high backs, but have to do some mods to put the stock tracks on them and have to figure out how to raise the rear mounts so they are both safe and comfy. I think these things are out of an escort or something like that.

I would do the high backs as they are so much better for driving any distance.

I would not do this until you have healed and can do it without pain. One wrong move, a sudden jerk because something slipped, or a stretch to reach just a bit more, all happening because you are mentally into the repair.....and then we hear you are back in the hospital.

We don't need any more of your nurse stories......

Pete, no worries, I am waiting for the rehab nurse who is a hottie as well releases me to do it. I was going to have the neighbor kid come over and yank them out so I can work on them on the bench and by the time the work is done I should be good enough to put them back.

I don't have a chest zipper, just two side slices about four inches long and the right side is healing very well, the left is still swollen and a bit sore, but this should not take too much longer. It is getting the heart back into rhythm which is why we did this to begin with.

The seats in my car came out of an 86ish Escort GT. They are basically the same as the Mustang GT seats with the Halo headrests. If those are the ones you have, they are already pitched higher in the front. I ended up lowering just the front of the seat pan since it was much too close to the steering wheel. You might want to measure the leading edge of you current seats to compare just how much difference there is between the two seats.

Remember....he is on drugs so what is hot to one....just may not be picture worthy to the rest of us......
