Selling

Holy shit! You wrote that didn't you? "Roundhouse three-finger eye jab". Dude, that car has you written all over it.

Nope...not me. I don't have anywhere near that much creativeness.

The car is the same year as mine but mine has different color graphics and I've also got the power antenna along with a few other differences.

Congrats on the sale. Not every has the good taste in cars like us :hide.

I am also working on a firebird at the moment.

Here is what I started with.

And what it looks like now for the most part.

I like that one....I had a 1980 Firebird in high school. Loved that car....

Hoping to start working on my TA here very soon. I can tell you one thing, it seems virtually impossible to find a Pontiac 400 block these days so I think instead of swapping motors I am going to beef up my numbers matching Olds 403....already have some 7a heads plus matching intake and cam for it.

I had a 79 Trans Am with a 403 that I sold when I bought this one. I wanted a 4 speed car. The 403 really isn't a bad motor. If you do a head swap to bump the compression up, along with a mild cam, intake, and play with your timing a bit you can really make it run good. What gearing do you currently have in the car. I would recommend a 3.23 or 3.42. The car would be an animal with those mods.

Stock, LOL!

I really don't know to be honest....haven't gotten that far into it yet.

So far all I've done to the car is minor stuff like get the power windows / locks working, replaced all the lock cylinders because the driver's side one was beyond hope, put new weather strip in the trunk, had the carb rebuilt, put new tires on it, took the door panels to the upholstery shop, replaced the water pump and master cylinder, etc, etc. We also just recently replaced the front springs and put a bushing kit in the front end....when I got the car about a year ago it drove like it had a worn out front end....drives much better now.

General plan is to rebuild the motor and clean up the engine bay next. Getting rid of the long tubes because I hate those things. After that, I need to address one small rust spot in the trunk and put new leaf springs on it which seems like that would be a good time to mess with the gears. Previous owner had the tranny rebuilt not long before I bought it so going to put off any upgrades there.

Interior is pretty decent but I need to do something eventually about a few cracks in the dash....

Or engines that last more than a single track day.

Yeah, yeah, Mr. I've never driven my own car...if in fact it DOES exist!

if your going to go fox body, why not get fuel injection at a minimum?

Who knows..I might. However, currently all the late 80's and early '90's models locally seem over priced.

The '83a might be a good candidate to fix up, have some fun with then sale for at least what you'd have in the car.

I'm currently in a should I sell dilemma. Got a call from a friend who said his neighbor is looking for a coupe project. Thought about getting rid of that heap in the garage. Won't get much for it, but the money I do get from it would be put toward a new project. I've got first dibs on the 67 fairlane sitting at my in law's place. Just needs a little tlc, rubber replaced and it's road ready.

Oh, I've "driven" it plenty. Imaginations are wonderful tools.

Be sure to let me know if you buy another mustang. I need to know whether to drop you as a Facebook friend. Though I would miss hearing about the boys baseball games, you krav classes and the idiots at your work.

I called about the '83 on Friday and never heard back from the guy so guessing he sold it....or he's a member here and couldn't take any more of Kev's butt rape jokes and decided to end it all? :shrug

Most things in the area seem over priced. There is one nice late 80's vert out there but the guy wants $7k....ummm, no....

This is one that I keep coming back to but seems over priced though not as bad as some of the others....

On the plus, I've purchased several smaller parts I've been needing for the Trans Am in the last week or so. Hoping work will slow down one of these days and I can get started on doing something with the motor.
