Shag has new shoes -----NOT !!

Re: Shag has new shoes

Bah, you're using my wheel/tire combo:p Seriously, that's exactly what I want on my car.

I think the stance will look better once the front settles down.

Re: Shag has new shoes

You'll be happy with those tires Craig. Yes, the BFGoodrich G-Force tires are what I'm using. Road noise is non-existant, wear is good, the rear tires "stick" when warmed and I've driven through rainstorms of biblical proportions for hours without any loss of traction.

Don't get too caught up with the ride height until after everything's installed and the vehicle has been around the block a few times.

OK, On Monday, John (OpenTrackerRacingProducts) called me a couple times with concerns of the wheels I picked saying that the 4" backspace was not going to work for me in the front and he was right. They were sticking outward too much waiting for a disaster to happen. So that afternoon I returned the wheels and tires back to my supplier and got a 100% refund. I found that remarkable since I had already installed the wheels and the steel lugnuts against the aluminum wheel had already shown wear.

Nevertheless, for the look that I want, I'm going with Vintage 45 series that have a 4.5" backspace. I told my supplier that I'll use the GForce tires which I originally bought if they can land me the wheels at a reasonable price.

So for now, Shag has it's rolling wheels back on........

Now you gotta copy my wheel choice..... 16X8 V45s with 4.5 Backspacing.

Errr...yeah, AR doesn't make those wheels in that size in the proper backspacing. I discovered this a few years ago. You have to custom order them if you want them. I tried some on my car last year and found the same thing you did. I was bummed because I could've had the set for $400.

But the Vintage 45's with the proper backspacing do work:) I've seen several 67-68's with these, including a couple lowered with those same G-Force tires, and they tuck up nicely under the wheel wells.

That's awesome they're taking them back with a full credit! I love the look of the TTD's if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have the 15X7's on my car, they should get their chit together and offer the proper backspacing, and at least mention the problem when selecting them for our cars, they definately know about it!
