So I got laid off today

Sorry to hear this, Tim. Keep your eyes and ears open and develop your network. They say "one door closes and another one opens." Hopefully, it will wind up being a great move for you.
 
Unemployment is a badge of honour.

I was unemployed for 18 months until last year. It is what you make of it so allow this as an opportunity for the future.
 
Thanks for all of the love and support dudes :hug2 The shock has worn off now. I got my monster up and running yesterday and updated my resume this morning. I plan on going back to my office this afternoon to get some job leads and LOR from the office manager. fd
