Something has to be wrong.....

Dave,
Yeah the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same on the RWD 3.8 and 5.0, the trans on the SC and 5.0 are supposedly more heavy duty (clutches and valve body stuff). I think the SC and the Lincoln Mark 8 (both MN12 platforms) had airbag suspension. My Bird and the doner does not. The IRS is the same basic platform as the 03 04 Terminater Cobra (just wider).
I really wanted a 5 speed SC doner, they used a trans from the F150 but I wanted to put the 5 speed behind the 5.0, I thought that would be pretty cool! Anyway, the stuff is safely stashed in the garage, ready when you need something!

Blue65coupe, yeah this stuff is pretty bulky and heavy, shipping would be a killer!

Dave,
A little motivation, this is my friends 93 T-Bird. They had the same front bumper as the SC. It was a factory 5.0. He's running a 393 stroker and a Vortech YSi with 15 psi of boost, running E85. He has only made 1 pass, and that was with the old 4.30s. Car was on the rpm limiter the last 75 feet, and turned 107 @ 6.55, with a 1.60 60ft because of wheel spin. He switched to 3.55's

oh, and the 3.8 V6 is notorious for blowing head gaskets

Ah, yes, I forgot about the head gasket issue in the 3.8.

My biggest regret in replacing the factory stereo was losing the use of the remote radio controls to the right of the gauges. I don't believe the Tbird has those, though. But I did gain the cup holders in the second DIN slot. :pep

I added a Taurus cup holder to my Bird...

Yeah, what's up with the complete absence of a cupholder? It was the first thing I noticed when I sat in the car and went to search for a spot for my 44oz. D. Pepsi sippy cup.

The girl selling the SC came in my office first thing this AM and returned my deposit. She's changed her mind and will be driving the car to LasVegas.

Whatever. The deal is off.

IF, if you would have done the deal I'd say keep the engine and aero mods that someone wanted and junk the rest. Those electrics aren't worth the hassle.

Good luck to her.

Yep, I'd thought about that. I'm a little relieved that she backed out of the deal this AM. I know how I get when fixing broke cars.... I wouldn't get a good nights sleep or have a weekend to screw off until everything was fixed and working. For what? For it to sit there in the driveway waiting it's turn to get driven?

Our DD is a little 4cyl Chevy Cavalier.
My '04 Hemi Dodge truck sits in the driveway all but approx. 10 miles a week, if that.
My Jeep Wrangler, now that the weather's cooling off isn't as much fun to drive with the soft top buffeting my ear-drums all the way down the road, so it'll be sitting parked 99% of the time.
Cooler weather and rain will limit driving the FB to once/twice every couple of weeks.
Both the Harley's are done until approx. next April.

I need another vehicle around here like I need another hole in my head.
