this QB will be a detriment, not a help. Mark my words....

OK. I set the league up. Returning players (except Steve...I deleted the old team you shared with Duane so you could create a new team name for use this year) should have gotten an e-mail invite notifying you the league is set up again. You/your team are already good to go.

New players (and Steve) I sent you guys a PM asking for your e-mail addresses so I can send you an invite to join. Please get back to me quickly so we can make sure everyone gets set up well in advance. The draft is set for next Sunday, the 25th at 8:00 P.M. EST. I want to make sure everyone is redy to go and any and all questions answered ahead of time.

PM me if you have any questions.

Well I received the requested e-mails form all of our new players and got them set up on the site and invite e-mails sent out. At this point everyone should be good to go. Please take a moment to get yourself set up in the league asap. I see Dale posted up a message on the league page that he was good to go. How about everyone reply there to his message that you are all set as well. That will be the easiest way for me to know everyone is on and there are no problems.

Any questions, let me know. Remember, the draft is at 8:00 P.M. EST this coming Sunday night.

So,
How the hell do you play this game anyways?
There are a million and one sources out there to tell you how it works. The ESPN site has quite a bit of good information for newbies. But in a nutshell here's how it works.

On Sunday, we will have a live "snake" draft. Each of us will get a randomized draft position (1-10) about an hour before it starts. At 8:00 P.M. EST the player with the first pick selects a player. Then number two goes and so forth until number 10 picks. That is the first round. Then for the second round, number ten picks first (11th pick of the draft) then number 9...The third round starts with the guy with the number one position picking first again. and it goes on like this until all rounds are finished. Whatever players you select are on your team.

Each week you field a team that consists of the following;

1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 Flex (RB, WR or TE)
1 TE
1 Team Defense
1 Kicker

During the draft you need to fill out all these spots on your roster. There are extra slots on your team to draft extra RBs or WRs or TEs or whatever you want. Prior to the draft you should try to formulate some idea of who you want on your team...bearing in mind your draft position as well as the wants of other players may make it very difficult to get all the players you want. Have back-up players in mind!

All during the season you can also trade players or pick up players off the "waiver wire" too. You do this to replace duds or injured. Or maybe to pick up a new young stud that everyone missed in the draft.

You get points for the actions of your players. Yardage run or passed. TDs scored. Field goals made, etc.

Each week your team is paired up against another player's and the team that scores the highest point total gets the win. Your team will have a win/loss record for the season. At season end, the top teams square off for the play-offs and a champion is crowned (All teams participate in the play-offs regardless of season record).

Craig ( and anybody else new to this) I strongly recomend going to the ESPN site and enter a few " mock drafts" with 10 people limit ( and snake ) It will let you see how the whole process works ahead of time.

OK I got the email and got signed in. I will have to play with this tomorrow. Busy night, daughters birthday today.

If it matters I am FordDude289.

I thought the flex position was only RB/WR ?? :dun

And you need to fill your bench. Just Sayin'
Nope. Flex can now be a TE as well. Keeping up with the changing NFL trends.

Guess I had better brush up on the :rulz

OK I just did a mock draft. I will assume that I will be competing with my fellow StangFix'ers in the draft. When I draft for the "BE" what is that for? For defence I pick a team? Answer these questions and I will do the mock draft thing again and see what else I do not understand. :hide

BE is your bench. Fill it with back ups for you key positions...RB, WR, QB, etc. Yes you draft a team defense in our league. Also a kicker.

Use your bench for injuries and bye weeks on your key players. Lord knows I had injury prone players last year

Still waiting on 3 sign-ups ??
Yep. Three newbies. Craig is in. Need Tim, David and Steve. Technically Steve isn't a newbie but as his team last year started as a collaboration with Duane I had to delete it and he needs to start his own this go 'round.

Also would like to hear from all the other returning players that they are in (have accessed the league on line) too. I know Rick is there as he posted a comment on the league home page.

Draft is this Sunday at 8:00 P.M. EST. The draft cannot commence until all players have joined. Come on, guys. Take a minute and get logged in today.

Accepted the offer today..... I'll do a mock draft or two.
