Starter fluid and tire mounting?

the first time I just did a little squirt but it did nothing so I shot a huge blast. What I didn't notice was the stuff puddled under the tire. When the initial POP was over I had a nice little blaze going. I threw a towel over it but it wouldn't go out. All the little tits caught on fire and I had a big blaze on the floor. I tried to get it put out to no avail and finally it went out when I blasted it with the air hose. I tried setting up the camera to film it but in all the commotion I forgot to start it filming.
 
I would have to say that it was a fail but it did soften the tire enough that I could wail on it with a rubber mallet while putting air into it and it finally seated. :nut
not sure I want to try it again with the other tire. I just picked it up today so i got it stretching now. Maybe this weekend I will give it a go and have the kids film it.
 
no body was home and there is no video evidence of any mishap. Now if my wife and kids came home and the house was on fire or I was in the hospital that would be a problem. My wife did ask why the garage smelled funny...
 
ROFL Man I am just picturing this, spray, light whoomp, dang its on fire now. Sorry but I'm glad I just scotch guarded my computer screen and keyboard.
 
yeah and the funny part was it wouldn't go out! I was jumping around throwing towels and stomping, panicking all the while it was flaming away!
 
We (the family) went out to grab a bite to eat tonight and pick up a couple things. While in the car I looked and Jen and said, "You ain't gonna believe what this guy on the forum did" and proceeded to tell her the story when I could stop laughing long enough to talk. If nothing else Craig, thanks for allowing she and I to laugh together.
 
Now I've heard of people mounting farm animals, but you gotta be a sicko to mount a lawn mower tire. :wtf
 
I think Craig deserves a new title after today. Where's that power?

Just glad to hear that you got 'er done and no one got hurt.
