Steering box replacement

After getting my car running again, I promptly fried a power steering hose against the exhaust manifold. Instead of simply replacing the $25 hose, I am thinking about changing the car to manual steering and installing a new Flaming River steering box. I have some questions to ask:

1) Is anyone unhappy with their Flaming River steering box?
2) How hard will it me to change the steering box while the engine is in the car? This is a 68 with a 289, C4, and stock exhaust manifolds.
3) To go to manual steering, are the parts I need only the ORP roller idler arm, a new center link, and the 1 1/8" sector manual steering pitman arm?

Any additional advice is appreciated!

1 - for the most part happy with my 7 year old unit. It does feel looser now after 7 years of use. If I had it to do over, I would of gone with a rack setup.

2 - Not hard to replace but a tight fit so it takes a little twisting of it to get it out.

3 - keep a Power Steering gear box. They have a better ratio for turning. (That is what I did)

I have a PS gearbox with manual steering. It's not fun to parallel park!!!
I did the ORP roller perches and just bought the roller idler but i haven't installed it yet. Im hoping it will help a little with slow speed steering. Its a two hand driver for sure except at highway speeds. I have a big block and wide tires so that doesn't help.

Thanks for the replies. I opted for the quick fix of simply replacing the PS hose. I got the bracket that holds the hoses too, so the hoses no longer can hit the exhaust manifold.

The steering box will be replaced soon but there are a few higher priority repairs to do first.
