Not a surprise that if the Feds get involved man power and efficiency will decrease. No doubt they'll fiddle while Rome burns (so to speak)
That just ticks me off. (I rewrote that statement 4 time to make it family friendly) By turning away help, you are not helping, so get out and let us fix the problem.

Gov. Perry, now is the time to show some kahunas and take charge.

Latest update from the farm. Winds are blowing it away from the farm. Allot less smoke so my parents are not having trouble breathing. And the best news, the fire is 70% contained.

Also, I just picked up 400 lbs of Deer Corn (In my Mustang). Those deer, hogs and turkey that are still alive have got to be real hungry.

Not to defend the federal gubbmint, but If I am the fire commander for the forest service, I want firefighters that I know are properly equipped, trained and squarely under my command, or I do not want them there at all. Fighting wildfires is not really about putting them out, but about depriving them of fuel to advance by clear cutting and controlled burning of firebreaks. That takes coordination and control. I agree that people willing to help should be put to work, but let them clear brush on private land or soak roofs, etc. I am probably OK keeping them off of the fire line.

Maybe I read it wrong. I assumed it to be firefighters from other areas helping out. I can understand not wanting a bunch of untrained regular joes trying to battle huge wild fires.
