The power of brake fluid

Couple weeks ago I was at my local Mustang salvage yard and Packy, the head honcho there was
working with another customer regarding some plastic taillight lens and told him, "You know, if you apply some brake fluid to the plastic, it will bring back a lot of it's sheen".

I said to myself :wtf

Well, I just did it to Shag's front fender side marker lens and DIIAAMMMM! They look almost brand new.

Anyone else tried this trick?

:wstup I also have never heard of that one. The plastic on the SWMBO AeroStar headlights is really hazed. I have tried to polish them with "plastic polish" with little success. I will try it on a corner of the headlight to see if it works. That is when it gets back. My girls just left for some water polo games.

I dip them in future floor wax.

Brake fluid is not going to be too friendly if it leaches out and gets on your paint.
