This go way out of hand, and I'm not talking the BDSM references
I've reread my posts, and wish to apologize, not for how I feel, but for how I expressed myself. I believe I got more defensive than I meant to, and people took it to mean that I was accusing them of saying my kids (in particular or otherwise implied) would be bad because I do not spank. (My wife is less anti-spanking than I am, but she has decided to follow my lead on this. She reserves the right to change her mind, and I respect that.)
What I was trying to provide counterbalance to is the back slapping that I perceived that implied "Yep, spanking is the only way to raise them right." And I admit now I was being a sensitive girl.
So let me say it publicly...I did not interpret any of y'all specifically saying my kids are bad, or my parenting sucks because we choose not to spank. I was a little miffed at what I saw as an implied belief that spanking is the only way to keep a kid in line.
I also agree that not every kid is the same, and I do know I am very very lucky for the kids I have.
And furthermore I'm sorry I derailed this thread, because I feel it's important to point out that the images Sheldon posted in the FirstPost were freaking hilarious, and as my wife said "I can see our son trying any of those!"
BTW, I was spanked as a kid, and I would have tried any of those anyway!!!!! Hell I'm 34 and I'd try a lot of that to this day!
