Yeah I'm thinking it's alot for what's there considering it needs plenty of metal work plus no motor or trans...
 
yeah, whats there should be around 2K to meet my liking. car would be unique when finished out though. be curious to see the specs on that marti report too.
 
I know where there's a very nice '69 GT 390 vert. Silver jade, VERY highly optioned all original with 95% of the restoration done. I had a chance to buy it 10 years ago at $20k. Since then the current owner traced the car's history back to Hollywood and it's supposed original owner was Jay Leno's personal lawyer. Now he wants closer to 6 figures for the car (?).

What makes the car really desirable is the low VIN. It's purported to be the oldest surviving '69 at VIN 000008.

so Steve, does being a BB GT make it more "valuable" than a Mach 1?

IMO, yes. I'd bet it's a lot easier to find a really nice '69 MACH1 than it is to find a similar GT car. Rememver that the GT option was killed due to the success of the MACH1.
 
i'm not the one to look to for facts/figures/numbers, but i agree with dave, there were far fewer GT's produced before the option was dropped due to the popularity of the mach1. i would also think that the 390 wasn't chosen as often as the 428 in 69 either.

look on ebay for example & see how many 428 mach1's are up for sale vs. how many 390 gt cars....

I would if I wasn't afraid I would buy it. Then the wife might throw me out. It's probably a scam though.
