Tip(s) for solving a fuel problem

I think I found my problem. I drained the tank and removed the fsu. The top one, in the attached pic, is the one I removed. Look at the fuel sock. It easily slides back and forth on the tube, and it was almost right up against the opening... I'm replacing the fsu with the one on the bottom.

I need to replace the filler pipe rubber hose, so I'm ordering that today. Hopefully I'll be able to drive her again next weekend.

:yah That was it: fuel sock was restricting the gas flow into the inlet since it was pushed right up against it... Drives great under high demand now.

Very glad you discovered the problem. I thought end end of the sock was also mesh constructed but apparently not.
Now drive that dang thing!

I was right? Well, I guess a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while!
