Toyota...again or still...

+1 here Ryan!

Sigh....Toyota put their foot in it this time. Telling the public it was something a small as a floor mat and then admitting it was the pedal and doing the work when they darn well know they have an electrical issue that they can't find!

They need to follow the KISS theory just like every other car maker. They (All of the auto makers) can not seem to keep it simple stupid to save their lives!

Good grief, let's figure it out and fix it already!

I am going to be in CA next weekend and my Dad and Brother who both own Toyota's are going to want me to leave my truck and ride with them. My answer is NO! Absolutely Not!

Well their motto used to be "Moving Forward" but they failed to mention with a stuck accelerator pedal, so now they are going to change it i hear. The new motto is going to be "There's No Stopping Us Now" :bike fd

Toyota Prius Speeds Out of Control on SoCal FWY

By Ben Tracy

(CBS) On the very day Toyota was making a high-profile defense of its cars, one of them was speeding out of control.

It was a pretty frightening Monday afternoon for a driver in San Diego. The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a Toyota Prius called 911 around 1:30 p.m. to say the car's accelerator was stuck and he couldn't slow it down.

The caller was driving eastbound on Interstate 8 near San Diego as this was happening, reports CBS News correspondent Ben Tracy. At one point the car was traveling at 90 mph.

The Highway Patrol responded. To get the runaway car to stop, they actually had to put their patrol car in front of the Prius and step on the brakes. The car eventually stopped near La Posta Bridge, but the whole even lasted for about 20 minutes.

California Highway Patrol is planning a news conference to provide more details.

Just saw this one on the news.... followed by a Toyota commitment to quality commercial.... go figure....

I saw that too and in the same news cast Toyota had a commercial thanking buyers for their loyalty. They will have a tuff time living this down!

Did his brake pedal also not work? It amazes me that someone can dial a cell phone in a panic state, but can't think to press the brake pedal.

I said that before and someone brought up that they have some push button start that won't shut off the car unless you do something special. Shifting to neutral would also work.
