I think I forgot to mention at this months club meeting lucky me became a committee member in my car club. :thu

Anyway, since I did my clubs website, I was volunteered to help put together a website for the drag strip just outside of town. I sent both samples to the track guy for his opinions, but I was just curious which one ya'll like best.

Screw 'em both. I want to know where the bad girls go to play!

My vote is for #2.

Yeah that would be nice but they want the site specific. I was even sent pdf's of each page, what text to write, where to put photo's, etc etc etc. Something else that is bothering me. I'm pretty sure 'play' cannot belong to Boy'z? :confu Shouldn't it be Boyz? I forget... been forever since I took english class. LOL

At least your car club does something...ours here locally is starting to suck and I am not going to pay my dues this year. The place where we had our weekly cruise in closed up shop and apparently we are not going to even try to set up a new cruise in....a car club without a cruise in that only has monthly business meetings, a charity cruise in once a month on Sunday morning and a car show once a year, really?

I have a bet for who picks up the tab at lunch with a friend of mine about how long it's going to take the club to die off completely....

We try to do things together. We meet every Wednesday night. Since weather is cold, we've been picking a local place to all meet up at and eat so we stay warm. Since we started doing that, we've had lots more folks show up.

It seems the only way to keep things going is to be consistent about things. During the summer the Friday night meet spot was at a local Baskin Robins (ice cream shop) and we'd get 10-20 cars. It was the weekly meet for all the local car clubs (StreetBeasts, Bluebonnet car club, Old Farts Sport Car Club), not just ours, to get together and hang out with other car folks. Well Baskin Robins closed down and we found another local ice cream place called Shakes that folks were trying to get the Friday meets moved to, but within a few weeks that ice cream place closed down as well! I guess folks got fed up with all the moving/changes because hardly anyone showed up for Fridays. :shrug

Oh well. Our car club still meets every Wednesday at a restaurant and we shovel food in our faces and have some laughs. :thu

You need to have me move to your area. I can single-handedly keep any ice cream shop in business.

People think my Dunlap is due to beer; it really is due to ice cream. My favorite is peppermint candy, now only found during Xmas.

I'm not sure why the Baskin Robins closed. They had lots of business it seemed. Especially on Friday nights. Shakes closed because the owner didn't want to pay $6,000 to fix the air conditioning unit which needed replaced in the building. Since he lived out of state, he decided to just close it down.

Linda and I are doing our best to keep them open locally.

Midlife, have you checked the local shop in Pier Park for the peppermint?
