So how many ppl got banned from that '68 Eleanor thread?? Including myself.
I think that's what got Dave S. re-banned. I know I stayed about 10 seconds from a banning every time I responded to that thread...I just can't leave trainwrecks alone. :rofl

PS: Mid, I think this thread gave me the swine flu...I feel like hell. I demand reparations! :pbj :rofl

I seriously thought that BP, J and Dale were gunning for it :toot
I fully expected it and was actualy surprised that all three of us weren't kicked off.You just don't cross the Golden Boy and not recieve the wrath of the Gods. Having wifey jump in was just too much not to respond.Just glad it's history. :mod

Correct. The racist thread was my "last" straw. I was banned in mid response during that post. I was attempting to clarify myself as my comments went WAY over the line. Bob rallied the few that were involved against me and within 10 minutes I was a goner. It was my own fault and I blame no-one but myself. If I'd have been a moderator involved, I'd have banned me also. It was pretty much an "internet breakdown".

What's weird is that I believe he acted quickly because he was reading my response. AZPete is correct, bannings usually aren't that instantaneous. I kept editing/adjusting it and was just about ready to submit when the plug was pulled.

In an earlier response, Bob had questioned my intelligence and integrity.... No, he flat out stated that I had none.

Within my response I had a short paragraph about his right to question my integrity that was less than flattering from his (or anyone else's) perspective.

I've learned long ago that if you're not "with" Bob, at least is his eyes, you're against him.

I hadn't noticed this thread earlier but we have been fighting this crap around my house for a couple of weeks now.

Several Fridays ago, I felt all achy. Came home at lunch and no temp. so blew it off. By that night I was running a little over 100. By the next evening after basically sleeping on the couch all day that Saturday I was around 103. Finally started to feel better by about Wednesday then one of the boys came down with it. Later that week I started to get some serious chest congestion. Other boy came down with it late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Took him to the after hours clinic on Sunday and he tested positive for type A flu. I went back to the doctor that Monday and turns out I had developed pnemonia (sp?). Ended up taking 10 days worth of Tamiflu and still working on taking about two weeks worth of two times a day anti-biotic.

After being off two weeks sick things are finally getting back to normal. But it has been a real pita.

The Mustang still isn't on the road just yet but close to getting the motor put in. Ran into some issues with the transmission but I have a transmission guy waiting on parts to fix it. Should be about $100 labor and about a couple hundred in parts.

Hey Dave concerning your post that got you voted off the Island....
although I may not agree with your politics or social comments on the post (I believe you even prefaced it with 'you didn't used to be this way') I think in the 'old' days of VMF the post would have been deleted right away and a moderator would have PMd you as to why and it would have been a off-line discussion. Nahh...boob wanted you gone and this was a perfect means to do it. Prod you and others into more heated replies until the inevitible.

I on the other hand just got booted for harassing the self made diety. :pf :tigg

The post was made in a moment of anger.

A young ex-Marine that was my "right hand man" here at the office received a mid-morning call from the police that his apartment had been broken into and his suddenly awoken wife had been brutally stabbed, robbed, her wedding ring ripped from her finger and her throat slit and left for dead.

I should not have posted until I had time to absorb everything and calm down. I said things in anger that I don't really mean. Shit happens. Life goes on.

Well, for most of us anyway.

It turns out that my buddies young wife was also raped.

Dave I have no problem with your anger and how you felt at the moment. As you said maybe your post should have been deleted. My contention is with the yahoo who left it there and baited you and others on in order to ban you.

I notice in the world around me that nothing is ever anyones fault. The generation behind us is quick to lay blame anywhere besides at their own two feet.

I take full resposibility for my current banishment. After I said things that I shouldn't have, was it made worse instead of immediately deleted to "protect me"? Sure, but it's my fault and no-one elses.

I'll let Bob cool off for a while and then get reinstated.... probably. Bob loves me, he just doesn't like to admit it.
