Very Cool Phone Call!!

When I towed my Fastback home from Indiana after winning it on a EBay auction in 2001, I found some old paper work in the glove box (1973 inspection receipts with a name and address, and a couple of 1/8th mile time slips). Well me being the Dumbass that I am I missplaced them. For years I thought I would like to be able to find the guy that's name was on the Inspection reports, if I could only figure out were I put them!
Fast forward to today. I asked a question here, and was responded to with another question to help with my answer, so I went digging for some old literature in a drawer where I keep everything that has to do with my Mustang, and bam there they were, they were folded up in a old invoice.
I Internet, White paged the name on the IR and he was still at the same address so I called. It was very cool to talk with this guy! Him and his wife seemed very happy that I called and he gave me a lot of history on the car! I e-mailed him some photos of the present day car while I was on the phone with him and I could tell he missed it as he looked at them. He also told me that he would try to dig out some old photos from back in the early 70s and mail them to me, I hope he comes thru, I can't wait to see them!!

This was a good day!
Dave.

thats pretty sweet. Neat story, I hope you post any info you get. I have the name of the used car lot my PO purchased the car from in the 80's. They are now defunct. However, the original owners manual, has the name of the first guy, and the dealer, both of which i've never been able to find. :nk

That's cool. I'd love to know some of the history of my mustang from back in the 70's...but I don't know if I'd want to see the pics when it had the shag carpet!!!

That is good. SO many PO's are not receptive to calls because they think you are after something other than info. Always nice to know something about the car before you owned it. I am hoping to get some history of some kind with the one I am buying..... :lol

Yep the PO of my car has never answered any email I have sent him. I think he would be afraid I tell him the car was rough or something.

I found a previous owner of my fastback and called him one day. After explaining that I was restoring his old 65 Mustang, he said that was impossible because it had been wrecked. He then proceeded to hang up on me. Oh, well.

When I sold my 85 GT, I put some papers with my name and address behind some of the interior panels. I'm waiting to see if I ever get something from that.
