Thanks all. I figure here is the place to introduce the cars that brought me here.
This is me and the '69. This is not my first Mustang, but the first "serious" restoration attempt.
This is what I was up against

Ok... So I didn't finish the whole car. Someone made me a pretty damn good offer on a full shell. It was enough to replace it with an orignal metal shell that I liked better.
The new shell also needed some work, but it was a much better starting point. Here is where I am now on the project.
The car has been painted with the correct original color, but there were some serious problems with the paint and prep, so it has to be redone. Unfortunatly, I have been pulled away due to work. The plan is to have the defective paint corrected before I return home (next year).
The car has a date correct 351w that has been professionally rebuilt with an Edelbrock top end. This engine was crazy expensive, but will last a lifetime.
The transmission is a date correct RUG-E3. This car originally had a 3 speed, but I just couldn't resist upgrading to the 4 speed. I gave the tranny the same treatment as the engine. It is as good as new or better.
The rear end is also a correct original 9 inch that was reburbished to new spec.
I have added the Vintage Venom brake kit to the car to protect the investment. Driving on the road is not the same as it was in 1969. New brakes are like insurance. Besides, it is cheaper than the original in the long run.
This car came with a black interior, but the exterior color seems to scream out for a white interior. I have seen a few with this color and the white interior and to me they seem to have just the right look that I want.
I do have one other car hiding in the barn.
