wow , I was working on the car this morning . I decided to get the car down off the jack stands . stupid me forgot a wheel block in front of wheels . with no transmission or engine in the car it started rolling on me . I was by myself and I tried to stop it , but it rolled down the driveway and into the street just as 1 of my neighbors was backing out of the driveway .

the worst part is because of winter I don't have it insured for collision right now and my neighbor thinks I should pay for the damage to his car .I think since he was backing out technically backed into my car we are 50/50 liable .

what you guys think I could do ?

Where you in the street first? Then he is at fault. No mater what, he should of been looking backwards and seen you.

First off I think it sucks that it happened.

I would call my agent and have them advise how to handle it. If you're cool with the neighbor things might work out for the best and maybe you could get away with just paying his deductible or something. Being that your car was rolling "free" I think any way you slice it you're looking at being at fault.

Crap, that sucks. Since you vehicle was unmanned, not sure what fault will be, but betting you are not coming out whole with a 'stray' car.

ahhh! man so sorry to hear/see that. I don't have any advise but hope your neighbor will work with you.

Try to work this out with your neighbour .Its important to keep the peace in the street.
Not being insure, think you have to pay the bill.
Maybe you have some other insurance that covers this.( We have here some kind of of a family insurance )Kids breaking the neighbors windows while playing football for example ect.Lets says the dog pulled the block away with his leatch ???

Sounds like he wants to be a douchebag about it now.

Alright , I am full of crap.

I was working on the car today. While sitting in the engine bay I had a daydream of rolling the rusty turd out in front of the UPS truck and taking the insurance money.

The picture is from a few years ago when my wheel came off.

I didn't think anyone would believe me .

I posted that same picture at least 2 or 3 times last year . 1 of them was even a car of the month

Good one! You hooked way more than my story did :wor

Re: well I guess I'm the fool today

Your story is what gave me the idea. That is how the damage in the picture actually happened a few years ago.

I can barely remember what happened last week, much less last year.
