What are you up to for Halloween?

Hide the children and lock the doors, it's Halloween-time at Ohio U.

My hometown is the home of one of the most famous?? halloween parties in the nation. They shut down the streets around the bar district for a good 12 hours on Halloween Saturday and insanity ensues. It's our crappy version of marti-gras, the cops aren't out to get you for once. The bars are open, house parties galore, coeds flashing from balconies, slutty/explict costumes you name it. Few years back, there was some true-blue riot action too, but the rioting and flashing haven't happened much recently.

We got pulled over twice last year, almost got arrested the second time, and that was before we started partying. To tell you the truth, I don't remember much after 8pm or so.... :craz

I'm not feeling 100% this year, but I'm going anyway, so we shall see what happens. :sur

PS: Here's some T&A and uptown insanity from last year, courtesy of youtube. I don't believe any of my friends are in there, dang it, LOL.

Athens, Ohio Halloween Block Party 2008

Anybody else have halloween plans?

Watch'n the Gators play Georgia and drink'n beer, doesn't get any better!!!!

We eat early, cut the lights, and hide from the scary kids!

This way, we get to keep the candy to ourselves.

I had thought that this year I would give candy out, so I bought two bags of something that I don't usually eat. Decided today that I can't chance catching any bugs from the monsters because I'm buried at work and can't miss, am about to start scuba diving lessons, am going to San Carlos for my open water test over Thanksgiving, and am going on a cruise at Christmas. The flu would wreck all those plans pretty much. So, screw the kiddies, I'm learning to like Cookies and Cream candy. Plus, Cheyenne barks like crazy when I open the door for anyone so she would scare any kids away.

:rp

There is your fun right there. Open the door eating the candy yourself and let Cheyenne chase them off...........

JD is 4 and Ermalyn is 8. We're going out to get Mom and Dad some Snicker's bars, I hope. :lol

They both wanted to be Pirates. So cute, I'll try and post some photo's later tonight.

Usually we host a party, but since we're having some work done on the house, not this year. After I hand out goodies to the little monsters, I, SWMBO, and Senor Don Julio are are off to a party later tonight.

The wife handed out the candy. I hid inside, keeping the dog from going insane and fighting a grand worth of new pc parts that managed to corrupt my backup image on one drive and windows on the other. Two years worth of stuff.....gone. Good news is that I get to stay 30 for an extra hour tonight.

Spent all afternoon setting up at the church carnival.

Took the kids to the carnival from 4:30 - 7 while they ran around playing the games and bouncing in the bouncer / moon walk things I worked one of the games.

Got the boys home and the wife took them down the street to a friend's house. So I went out to the garage and fired up the Mustang for a minute to make sure I got the leak fixed on my tranny cooling line then I came inside and now I am playing on the net wondering how best to clean up tranny fluid from my engine bay that sprayed everwhere this morning.

Kids should be home in a little bit then I'll be busy giving them a bath and trying to get two totally sugar rushed eight year old boys settled down for bed...yeah I know, wish me luck on that one, LOL!

I went to probably the last local car show of the year, then came home handed out candy for a while, then loaded my youngest (the only one interested in trick or treat) on the 4 wheeler and took him around town. Came home and now I'm surfing the SF website!

BTW, I got best of show!
It turned out to be a nice day for a car show, was a little worried late in the week with all the rain! Anyway, the show was good. They had a decent turn out for the first show. 6 Mustangs, two Vettes, a 68 Dart, two late 70's Cameros (one with a Blown Big Block), a 55 Belair... Here a few pics!

This was a cool 37 Jaguar kit car based on a Mustang II... and he had a cool homemade teardrop trailer.

How about being a hospital patient about 1500 miles from hom? :cry

On a business trip to Guthrie, OK I came down with a severe case of Pancreitis. This is stomach pain like no human should ever experience. Got me a nice ride in an ambulance, a week in a hospital along way from home and family, and missed most of the weekend. Got out today and still sore, groggy, and have to be careful about eating. Flying home Monday and I am sure it will have never looked better.

Damn dude, that just plain sucks! Hope you get better.

We had 34 Trick or Treaters. Way down from the 70 something last year.

Windsoto, hope you have a smooth flight home, thats a real bummer.

I had to work, but we handed out candy at work.

One of my employees dressed up as a scarecrow with a real pumpkin on his head.
It was kind of fun. No one thought he was real until he reached out and grabbed them. Scared a few kids, but that's what Halloween is all about isn't it?

I answered the door, pointed east and said

"Bugger off, America is 13,000 kilometers that way"

The missus reckons i am turning into my father, but that cant be right, he was a grumpy old bugger!!

Had a little party after my daughter's wedding.
Look at these 2 buffoons.
