What did you get done on your Stang today????

Well I got the exhaust put on Tuesday. I had the local exhaust shop do 2.25" system with magnaflow mufflers. I was originally going to have flowmaster 40's put on, but changed my mind when I got there. I don't want to the car to be too overly loud, as this is more of a cruising car. And it is at the garage right now getting a few different leaks fixed. This is something I would have normally done by myself, but being I am only a month out from my back surgery I am not supposed to be doing to much of that stuff at the moment. Once the leaks are fixed it should be good to go for the summer.

:wop

Finally got the remnants of the old pilot bearing out of the crankshaft this morning.

Three words: blind. hole. puller

Clean & mean... GO with black accents is never a bad idea

My pinkie got filleted about an inch and a half wide open. I should have headed to the ER...

Hope it heals up well. Was that horse ever owned by Diomedes? :hide (sorry, I watched a show about the labors of Hercules on the History Channel the other night)

Well haven't done anything on the '66 but the other day I did something on my '03 GT. Been trying to get better sounding exhaust so it sounds good like good old Gertrude. I had the Corsa mufflers removed (which are for sale) and replaced with spin techs that came off friends '97 mustang (he changed to flowmasters last week).

Still don't have the sound I want. Even with spin techs, it's still too quiet for my taste. I'm thinking I might have to get some high flow cats and/or offroad x or h pipes. :confu

Oh and per :rulz

Good week for the 69. Started with a 50 mile fathers day cruise. Tuesday we took her out to a local cruise-in. 45 mile round trip. Last night went to another local cruise and put another 40 miles on. Its not alot of miles but compared to last year, I'm off to a good start. Best part, the wife and kid are enjoying it as well.

Did a 250 mile round trip to the farm and back with my signature Mustang, Those 355 were fun but loud at 70+ mph.

The reason I went to the farm, I having a guy make me some lumber out of some of our trees that we have cut down. I hope to get enough for my 20X20 cabin/shed. he only changes 25 cent a board foot to cut it and will also air stack it.

Fixed a break issue, some idiot (me) installed the left rear break adjuster backwards. Simple fix, breaks work fine now.

been working on little stuff the last couple days. finally have the parking brake close to doing what its supposed to, changed out the front lug studs for longer ones, made the return spring for the clutch lever, bolted on the starter & drilled/tapped the speedo cable retainer bolt hole that was stripped in the tranny. may have it sitting on the ground today if i can get out there for a little while...

Started working on fitting the new seats for the 65. The rear seat backs look like they were made for this car! The base will be another story.... Been a while but felt good to spend a few minutes on the car.

Didn't exactly work ON a mustang, but I did something to allow me to be able to work on Gertrude. I cleaned my garage! :thu

Ever since we moved into this rental house, the right side of the garage was either taken by a huge air hockey table...

or boxes of junk.

That's what happens when you move from a 2500sqft house into a 1300sqft house with lack of storage and we're not allowed to use the attic because the owner still has his stuff up there. I finally decided to go through boxes and just throw crap out. I need more room to be able to move around a car and if I'm going to have folks over this week to help fix her, we need room! I still need to do a little more organizing, and give the collection of roller wheels back to my friend.
If I wanted, I could fit both my mustangs in the garage! :yah

and.. I found all the mustang parts I had around the garage and cleaned off the shelf and made it the mustang shelf.

Only took 2 straight days in 100* weather to do it. Felt like an eternity though. :roul I'm happy and proud of what was accomplished.

Of course, you will now spend half of your car time looking for where you stashed the item you need......and will find it just after you install the newly purchased replacement item.

Looks good.

Thanks guys!

Well I tried to keep it easy to find. Any mustang part I have, is somewhere on the shelf. It will be a matter of just opening up the boxes and looking which box it would be in. The only mustang parts that are not on the shelf is my MTF e-nose which is on a bench on the other side of the garage, and the carpet. Only place to put them so it won't get messed up before I can put it on.

the car is now off the jackstands & supporting its own weight! ended up raising the rear 1" for a little better tire clearance, pulled the trans crossmember back out to make another pattern then reinstalled, put the fluid in the trans, bolted up the exhaust & hung the fenders. still need to drain the last bit of gas out of the tank & attach the connector hose plus add the coolant & it should be ready to "test fire". if the front doesnt settle much, i will probably drop it about 3/4" to match the rear tire/fenderwell fit. after rebuilding the front end(same springs though) it seems to have raised up about 1 1/2" from where it was beforehand.

new rear height:

Put in a new speedometer gear and the new driver side AC vent. I used a Cougar one. It does not have any controls. I will be using the electronic controls that come with the Aftermarket AC kit.

Burnt in a firewall. Still got alot of work left in the cowl area. I braved the 100+ degree heat for as long as I could stand yesterday and today. I need to put a ac window unit in the garage :thu

I welded and ground the welds smooth on my buddies 65 FB front frame rails. The entire car has been held together with just screws. Starting to actually put it together.
