What did you get done on your Stang today????

Weather has been good, been driving the 69 a bit. Hit a couple of cruise-ins and just some spirited driving. Also finally found some time this past weekend to work on the 65. Just about completed the seat frames for the 07 seats. Just have to encapsulate the floors under the old risers and weld the frames in.

Finally got around to working on my custom T5 trans mount some more. Trimmed some and clamped in place under the car. Tacked up two of the four arms. Welding under a car on your back kinda sucks. Pulled it off to lay out so I could see WTF I was doing in the clear and the MIG wire immediately broke inside the sheath. Got that all dug out and ran some more wire. Until it stopped. Because it was just wadding up right before the sheath. Resorted that out and noted wire was running low. Welded 1/2" of bead anyway until the wire ran out. I always keep a spare roll of wire. Except today. Unplugged the welder and went in the house. Left every bit of that crap just all in the floor. MMmm, ice cream.

My latest obsession is to drop weight in the coupe so I can add it back with a full cage. Bit the bullet and finally removed all the door glass and mechanisms:

Front Qtr glass -14lbs
Door glass -30lbs
Door glass mechanisms -14.8lbs
Rear Qtr windows -18lbs
Rear Qtr mechanisms -10.4lbs

Nice weight savings Shaun!

I had a good long weekend. I managed to finish fabricating and welding in the front seat mounts. A little seam sealer and paint and it'll be good to go.

I mocked up the rear seat backs. Just need to make up a few spacers to replace the wood I used. The fold down part works perfectly. The rear base will need to be custom done by a professional...

I then worked on templates for the mounting brackets on the roll bar. I'm changing the 4 point to a Shelby style that mounts to the roof. The back legs of the 4 point interfered with the rear fold down.

And last, I worked on the radiator/electric fan mounting. I cut down some 3/4 hex aluminum and drilled and tapped the ends. 1 down, 3 to go.

So so close to turning my body guy loose on the beast!

Installed the CSRP disc brakes over the long weekend. Now I just have to get a helper to bleed the brakes and I'm ready to test it out (aka 'brake' it in)! :thu

Get you a set of speed bleeders, a clean 2 Liter soda bottle and some clear hose and never need a helper again to bleed the brakes!

Took the passenger seat and glove box door off to do some work behind the dash. First thing was to reattach the AC hose to the center vents. It had come off during the hot rod power tour. Nice to get the AC back to blowing on my face and not on the backside of the dash.

Next, I having wiper motor issues I need to check out.

I've created a monster...

Ronda has had her Mustang 2 weeks today. Day 2 of ownership saw window tint being installed. Last week was fancy floor mats and rear splashguards. Today, I had 2 boxes of Ford parts sitting on the porch to install - a strut tower brace and the "Performance Package" Engine cover. I hear there's some hood stripes in transit somewhere too... :shrug

Get her some hood struts and remove that prop rod. I bought MRT's and love them because they fit back, close to the hinge with no drilling. Some mount mid way on the fender with drilling required.

There is a never ending supply of "stuff" to do to it...lol

LOL... They're already on her list. She's also got her eye on the CPC Battery/Master Cyl Covers and a blacked-out trunklid panel

Agree with you on the MRT struts - I used them on the White Saleen - good product!

I won't even MENTION that I had to pull all 4 tires off last week to align the Pony centercaps with the valvestems wheel-to-wheel...

Sooo, she IS bringing the car to the track! Those upgrades will help the handling some. I have 2 sets of 15" track rubber if you need tires.

And you can bet that all of :Mark 's track tires are Damn near like new.

Sadly, both sets are almost full tread. One set of NT-01's have 1 full session on them from this year and the RS-3's have 2 track days on them from last year.

Wouldn't expect anything less.
