What did you get done on your Stang today????

Installed new front shocks. Found a ball joint with a broken boot - ordered a new ball joint.

Noticed after new shocks and ORP spring mounts the car steers and drives much better.

Now on to finding out what is going on with the AC???

It was well over 100 today making the garage about 95. Finished polishing my alternator front cover. Plan to take it to the auto place to make sure it charges fine tomorrow.

Hope to polish some old aluminum valve covers tomorrow.

Dusted it off, loaded up some CD's and drove 30 miles of a 40-mile trip to a car show before slowly realizing I had been reading the newspaper car show activities a day late. The show was held the day before.

Got my old valve covers polished today.

Cleaned off my work bench so I can start my next project. Not sure what, I have a day or so to decide. The work bench sure looks odd with nothing on it.

Drove it. 1496 miles between Thursday & today. Only hiccup was A/C that decided to blow warm for about 100 miles. Magically fixed itself after a fuel stop. :dun

Glad the AC fixed itself and that you home safe.. It was a scorcher this weekend. Hope it was a fun trip.

It acted up 2 separate times, but fixed itself both times after a stop. Weird issue. I'm actually leaning toward the WOT relay sticking...

FUN trip - so many people, so many cars. So many miles.

I took 3rd in the 84-93 Saleen class. 1st place was a 1000 mile 1989 SSC. I drove 500 more miles this weekend than that car traveled in the last 24 years...

Finished the passenger side front seat (back rest) upholstery Sunday. Wrestled the hinges & reattached the seat back & bottom today with the help of a friend.

Only the driver's seat remains. Think I'll take a break for a few days... feels like I've been wrestling a baby bear.

Finally got back to work on the passenger side door skin. Wanted to get this done before I crack open the drivers quarter. Got it in epoxy primer today. I'll skin it on Thursday as I have a Dr appointment and have to run the Wife to the airport tomorrow afternoon.First time shooting epoxy. A couple of small sags and a little bit of solvent pop, other than that it came out good.

Got the skin on today. A couple of things. I wanted to see if the sheetmetal from Goodmark was as good as the GM crowd says it is and it's not.I'll stick with the Dynacorn sheet even though I'm almost done with everything. The Dynacorn skin I brought for the drivers side did seem a bit thicker. Door handles. For us 69/70 guys,The cheap versions will work if you change the mechanism on the button. When I did the test fit of the handle it wouldn't line up because the door frame is in the way.It drove me up a wall and I almost went back to the plan of shaved door handles. Saw a link on youtube for CJ's installation and they said to swap parts and it would work. It did. 24 for the cheap ones and I think the Scott Drake 69/70 versions that come with new parts are 70. I started off by swapping the mechanical parts into the new door.

Now onto the Quarter Panel.

Spent the day working out all the electrical gremlins on the car. Now turn signals brakes hazards and gas tank items now work

Covered myself and the garage in undercoating dust, flung steel wire bits in my hair, set some stuff on fire with the welder, smashed my finger and bled on the floor. But the car is a little bit closer to being ready to drive. What a great weekend!

Sunday I finished putting the passenger seat back together, and got it back in the car. Took a little drive while I had the chance.

Today I pulled the driver's seat out. Last one to reupholster. Ever.

Just wait until you sit down with a screwdriver in your back pocket.

Nope. Ain't gonna do it! :chair

And if I do, it's going to the upholstery shop.

Plus I already did that once when I was young, but it was a rat-tailed comb. So hopefully I learned that lesson... :whis
